Despite being cleared of any wrongdoing in the alleged whipping of Haitian migrants, Border Patrol agents are reportedly going to be punished by DHS after President Joe Biden said he’d “make them pay.”
Mounted Border Patrol agents in Del Rio, Texas were caught on camera attempting to prevent Haitian immigrants from illegally crossing the border last September. They were accused of using their reins as whips when, in fact, they were using them to control their horses so migrants would not be hurt in the altercation.
Leftists falsely accused them of whipping the illegal immigrants. ABC, CBS, and NBC all reported the debunked claim that Border Patrol agents were whipping Haitian migrants, but didn’t bother to inform viewers that it was discredited.
In November, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) declined to press criminal charges against the agents but now they are going after them from a different angle in order to appease the radical left. DHS is reportedly preparing to charge them with “administrative violations.” They were put on desk duty after the incident and have remained there even after being cleared of the false charges against them.
Fox News was told by a source within the federal government that an announcement on the matter is expected within days. The source asserted that DHS will be proposing discipline for the agents who will be given due process and then have a chance to respond to the charges. They are unlikely to be fired.
BREAKING: Per federal source, DHS is preparing to discipline multiple horseback Border Patrol agents who were accused of “whipping” Haitian migrants in Del Rio last summer. I’m told DHS will imminently allege “administrative violations”, agents will be able to respond @FoxNews

It has been nearly 9 months since this incident took place. The agents have been taken off their normal duties and have not been allowed to have contact w/ migrants since.

The Border Patrol’s Office of Personnel Responsibility has spent months reviewing photographs and interviewing witnesses and agents.
Among the chief instigators against the Border Patrol agents was President Biden himself who charged that migrants were being “strapped” at the border.
“It was horrible to see, to see people treated like they did, with horses nearly running them over. People being strapped,” Biden proclaimed in September.
“It’s outrageous. I promise you those people will pay. There will be an investigation underway now and there will be consequences. There will be consequences. It’s an embarrassment,” he declared.
“But beyond an embarrassment, it’s dangerous, it’s wrong, it sends the wrong message around the world, and sends the wrong message at home. It’s simply not who we are,” Biden charged before an investigation was even conducted, in essence, proclaiming the agents guilty up front.

Following the confrontation, the White House announced that agents would no longer be allowed to chase down migrants on horseback.
Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas stated that the photos of the Border Agents doing their jobs “correctly and necessarily were met with our nation’s horror.”
“They do not reflect who we are as a country nor do they reflect who the United States Custom and Border Protection is,” Mayorkas remarked at the time.
These CBP agents were unjustly smeared by commentators, journalists, politicians, and some of their own leadership. They are owed an apology, not a baseless punishment to cover up for those smears.

Photographer Paul Ratje, who took some of the images that day that were used against Border Patrol agents, claimed he didn’t see anyone being whipped.
“I’ve never seen them whip anyone,” he told KTSM-TV.
Ratje stated that the pictures show the agents swinging the long reins of their horses, not holding whips.
“He was swinging it, but it can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture,” he noted.
The general consensus on social media is that this is more persecution against the Border Patrol and is, in a word, BS:
It’s no wonder morale is at historic lows. Myorkas just needs to scapegoat these agents because they played to an overblown media story. It’s disgusting, but not surprising, given the state of our border under this administration.

It doesn’t matter if photographic evidence completely exonerates you, if they want to punish you, they will punish you pic.twitter.com/lwouO7krmJ

Wait, I thought they were cleared? BS.

The DHS protects the regime, not the homeland.

Can’t imagine why morale is so low.

I see this as follow-thru with the narrative that they were engaged in whipping. If the Administration is going to publicly accuse them, then this is the end result.
I hope DHS gets sued to oblivion for it.
