Three Philadelphia Republicans have begun impeachment proceedings to remove leftist District Attorney Larry Krasner from office for dereliction of duty amid out-of-control crime in the city.
Republican State Representatives Tim O’Neal, Josh Kail, and Torren Ecker have all taken a stand against Krasner and are trying to oust him contending that he is unstable and his far-left policies are costing people’s lives. There were ten shootings the first weekend in June alone in the City of Brotherly Love.
“We want to highlight the dereliction of duty that we’ve seen from this district attorney,” Kail told “Fox & Friends First” co-host Todd Piro during an interview on Tuesday. “Lives have been lost, property has been destroyed, and really, families have been crushed. Enough is enough. And we need to do something, and we need to get back to the basics in this commonwealth and in this nation.”
“Really, we need to get back to law and order,” he admonished. “Chaos has had too much of a reign in Philadelphia, and it’s time to stop it.”

“Across the country, people are standing up to unchecked and uncontrolled violence and lawlessness allowed because of radical politicians in district attorneys’ offices, like Larry Krasner,” Ecker said, according to CBS. “Just last week, city businesses said they are thinking of relocating because of spikes in crime. Philadelphia is Pennsylvania’s major economic engine, a tourist attraction, and the birthplace of our freedoms. If unchecked crime is keeping businesses and tourists from visiting and locating in Philadelphia, it impacts Pennsylvania as a whole.”
Ecker bluntly asserted “it’s widespread lawlessness in the City of Philadelphia.”
On Monday, the conservative lawmakers introduced articles of impeachment against Krasner. For his part, the district attorney called it a distraction and “unconstitutional.”

“What they are doing in terms of impeachment, clearly without a legal basis, it is clearly unconstitutional. And that will all come out as this proceeds, if it proceeds at all,” Krasner said during a press conference.
“They have no legal basis whatsoever, even if they do not like what the Philadelphia district attorney is doing in terms of, how shall I put it, they are having fewer people from Philly in their jails,” he added. “Oh, my. You don’t suppose there’s an economic incentive there to have more people from Philly in their jails, even if they do not like it? That is not called impeachment. We have elections in the United States. We count all the votes. We don’t lie about whether our count in Philadelphia spoken about what administration they want making decisions on these cases.”
O’Neal explained it “certainly isn’t an easy process, and it’s an extraordinary step,” before adding, “But we’re confident that this is going to be a bipartisan effort. Larry Krasner’s failures as a district attorney in Philadelphia are well known and very public.”
“We did not arrive at this decision lightly or easily. In fact, we are taking this action after we have taken significant steps to pass legislation that addresses violent crime in Philadelphia by ensuring our current laws are enforced,” Kail also told Fox News. “We are starting this process now because the unchecked violent crime in Philadelphia has reached a breaking point due to the willful refusal by District Attorney Krasner to enforce existing laws.”

Giving impetus to the impeachment move, the Republicans seem to have taken their cue from San Francisco voters recalling radical leftist District Attorney Chesa Boudin with 61 percent of the vote giving him the boot. Boudin was hammered over the city’s exploding homeless population and violent crime that was skyrocketing. Both Boudin and Krasner have reportedly been funded by George Soros-supported groups.
“He’s completely lost his mind,” Ecker claimed. “The people of the city aren’t backing him. Former leaders of the city, current leaders of the city, have called for… him to step in and start prosecuting crimes.”

Violent crime has shot up five percent in Philadelphia as of May, according to Fox News Digital. Murder has jumped 15 percent since last year. State legislators argue that Krasner has created an environment of “unchecked” crime by refusing to prosecute lawbreakers.
“We don’t have a crisis of lawlessness, we don’t have a crisis of crime, we don’t have a crisis of violence,” Krasner told reporters at a press conference in December. “It’s important that we don’t let this become mushy and bleed into the notion that there is some kind of big spike in crime. There isn’t. There is not a big spike in crime. … There is not a big spike in violent crime. Neither one of these things is true.”
