Fox News and Fox Business Network anchor Neil Cavuto returned to the network on Monday, following his absence for weeks after contracting COVID pneumonia which almost did him in, sharing hate mail from some of his critics who evidently didn’t care if he lived or died.

“I did get COVID again, but a far, far more serious strand,” he told Fox Business Network viewers on “Cavuto Coast to Coast” Monday. “What doctors call COVID pneumonia. It landed me in intensive care for quite a while and it really was touch and go.”

Cavuto has battled cancer and has multiple sclerosis making him severely immunocompromised. He was fully vaccinated but insisted it was not the jab that landed him in the hospital. In fact, he told viewers if he wasn’t vaccinated, “I wouldn’t be here.” The host has had COVID before.

Later, in his Fox News Channel program “Your World,” Cavuto again spoke about his contracting the virus. This time he included even more hate mail that he received while fighting for his life.

He thanked his guest hosts and his staff for filling in for him while he was out. And he thanked Fox News for honoring his wishes to not address his absence.

“I am back, and I’m betting a lot of you wondered if I would ever be back,” he quipped. “That was certainly the case earlier today when I returned to my Fox Business show and talked about viewers like Lisa, who wrote that she thought I had died and Fox just, well, forgot to say anything about it.”

Then he delved into the “feedback” that came his way while he was in the hospital.

“Cavuto has to be out of a job. Now they’re calling it Your World. He sure sucked at it, but I hope he’s well,” viewer Melanie wrote.

“Not a fan, I guess,” Cavuto noted.

“Dead or alive, as long as he isn’t on my TV, it’s a good day,” critic Janice bluntly told him.

“Well, sorry about today then, Janice,” Cavuto remarked.

“Now once FBN viewers finally saw me, I thought they’d be delighted. Not quite,” he continued.

“Bummer, Cavuto is back. Time to change the channel. He should have just kept his subs as they are so much better.” Stress Free Life asserted.

“Actually, I’m convinced that was one of the subs,” the host joked.

“Welcome back Neil Cavuto. Glad you’re feeling better. Is it me, or did you lose weight? Based on your track record, I’m sure you will gain it all back. God protect the workers at the nearest Ponderosa all-you-can-eat buffet.” SaltWaterConch viciously snarked.

“That’s actually funny. Ponderosa is a theme here, by the way,” Cavuto laughed.

“Welcome back, Neil, missed your sense of humor most of all. Glad to see you’re well.” wrote Virginia.

“So glad you’re back Neil… It’s that STRONG ITALIAN HERITAGE… can’t keep us down… GOD BLESS!!!” Francesca told him.

“What are they hiding? Why is Fox not saying anything?” an obviously paranoid Alex asked the host.

“They were honoring my wishes,” Cavuto replied. “They were respecting my privacy, though they were getting a lot of heat trying to protect that privacy. Now, I wasn’t hiding anything. I just felt that it really wasn’t a story.”

He added, “What matters is the news. What matters is you, but this did drag on a long time, so you deserve an explanation from me.”

Cavuto explained on his show why he was absent and what happened. He did not attempt to hide anything or make the story about himself. Many are just glad he recovered whether they agree with his reporting or not.
