Fox News host Neil Cavuto, 63, has contracted a breakthrough case of the coronavirus despite reportedly being heavily immunocompromised, raising concerns over his health given the recent passing from COVID of Colin Powell, 84, who too had been vaccinated and immunocompromised.

Cavuto, who hosts shows on both Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network, remains optimistic over his fate nevertheless. In a statement issued to the media Tuesday, he touted his decision to get vaccinated as surefire proof that “I’m surviving this.”

“While I’m somewhat stunned by this news, doctors tell me I’m lucky as well. Had I not been vaccinated, and with all my medical issues, this would be a far more dire situation. It’s not, because I did and I’m surviving this because I did,” he said.

“I hope anyone and everyone gets that message loud and clear. Get vaccinated, for yourself and everyone around you. Everyone wins, except maybe my wife, who thought I was back in the city for good for live shows. Maybe not so fast now,” he added.

According to MarketWatch, Cavuto learned of his positive test result immediately after he hosted Monday’s episode of Fox News’ “Your World with Neil Cavuto.”

The following day, fellow Fox News host Charles Payne filled in for him on “Your World,” while Fox Business Network correspondent Jackie DeAngelis filled in for him on his Fox Business Network show, “Cavuto Coast to Coast.”

Despite Cavuto’s optimism, there is a valid concern about his fate.

According to The Daily Beast, Cavuto “is immunocompromised, making the breakthrough case potentially dangerous. The longtime Fox anchor has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, has survived stage 4 cancer in the form of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and underwent triple bypass heart surgery in 2016.”

The Fox News host’s diagnosis on Monday came on the exact same day that legendary statesman Colin Powell, who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under President George H. W. Bush and then as Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, died from a breakthrough case of the coronavirus.

Like Cavuto, Powell was heavily immunocompromised. He suffered from multiple myeloma, a deadly form of blood cancer “that severely impairs the immune system, lowering the effectiveness of vaccines,” as claimed by The Washington Post.

Given the previous claims from the so-called “experts” that the immunocompromised must get vaccinated to protect themselves from the coronavirus, some critics on the right are now asking questions about the efficacy of the virus.

“There will be many conversations in wake of this death, there will be honoring this man, this public servant, this human being, who was a professional soldier for 35 years. We can reflect on his life and we should. There also be conversations about the fact he was fully vaccinated, according to his family and he died from complications from COVID,” one critic, Fox News’ Will Cain, said Monday.

“We are beginning to see statistics like this grow in frequency. We know the vaccine does wane over time in its ability to protect you from not just its transmission and infection but severe complications and hospitalization and obvious, death well. We know it’s beginning to spill over COVID into the vaccinated population,” he added.

He continued by acknowledging Powell’s age and immunocompromised status but urging everyone to nevertheless be “aware” of the vaccine’s limitations.

“Again, Colin Powell in the direct age demographic that suffers the most from complications from COVID, but I think everyone watching needs to be aware of limitations — and protections — that we all have all offered ourselves through this pandemic in all of this potential risk,” he said.

Meanwhile, some leftists are exploiting Powell’s death to continue their attacks on the unvaccinated, claiming in bizarre contradiction of all known scientific evidence that the unvaccinated are to blame for the legendary statesman’s death.

Other leftists like Ana Navarro are using Powell’s dislike of former President Donald Trump to urge conservatives to support the Orwellian Jan. 6th Committee.

And far-leftists are outright celebrating Powell’s death on the basis that he was a “war criminal.”

Hopefully, Cavuto will be just fine as he’s predicted. But in case something does happen to him, be prepared for another round of insensitive attacks from the same people who complain incessantly about “hate speech” and say “speech is violence.”

The longtime Fox News host, for his part, has a long record of being anything but violent, though he did admit over the summer that he used to be rather selfish.

“When I started my career, I was selfish and egotistical. Now, I’m just egotistical,” he joked during an interview with The Wrap about his survival from cancer.

“You can step on people’s hands as you move up the ladder and that was me. I think cancer told me, ‘Slow down. Quit stepping on hands. Don’t be a schmuck. Don’t be so enamored of yourself that you don’t think all of this can go in a moment, which it can.’ I think that has taught me some basic rules of life. Appreciate it and appreciate those around you. That’s the best I can do,” he added.
