Chelsea Clinton, who perhaps epitomizes the concept of the trust fund baby, claims that her family provided the impetus for the creation of the “destructive” Fox News Channel.
On various media platforms, Chelsea and her mom, still-bitter 2016 presidential loser Hillary Clinton, have been busy promoting their Apple TV+ docuseries “Gutsy,” based on the “The Book of Gutsy Women,” which they supposedly authored, which highlights pampered, limousine liberal females.
A compliant interviewer for Variety tossed a softball at the mother-daughter Democrat duo by claiming, “Your family was the first great target of Fox News’ approach.”
“We were the reason that Fox News was created. Because Rupert Murdoch recognized a great market opportunity,” Chelsea responded in what some might consider a humble brag.
Fox News Channel launched on October 7, 1996, during the presidency of Bill Clinton, Chelsea’s dad, who recently accused the GOP of pre-election fearmongering.
Chelsea, who seems to lack original thought (or perhaps it’s just about the need to pander to a specific audience for monetization purposes) then somehow pivoted to global warming alarmism as well as the COVID narrative.
This came in a response to another softball about whether “Gutsy” is an attempt to fight back against right-leaning outlets (that are engaging in free speech).
“Climate change illuminated where Fox News was willing to go and its destructive impact. It’s not singularly about Fox News; it’s also about conservative and right-wing enterprises that sprung up during the 1990s and early 2000s. I’m 42, and when I was in junior high, two-thirds of Americans knew human activity is partly responsible for climate change. The right proved to themselves, ‘We can hit people with relentless misinformation and every night pipe into their homes to disbelieve scientists — what else could be possible?’ Today, with COVID, it’s the same playbook,” she said in the simplistic, cliche-ridden response.

The former first daughter, who was once paid $600,000 by NBC News for what might have amounted to a no-show job, went on to say in the interview that “The fact that Fox News broadcasts some version of the great replacement theory on a regular basis and it doesn’t get a robust response from the rest of our media is really disturbing to me…I have had a unique experience with the right. It has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Anything I can do to push back and create space for the stories I think we should be focused on is what I want to do.”
Chelsea also left the door open to a possible run for office in the future.
Hillary Clinton then chimed in with more liberal projection by claiming, despite all the evidence of massive bias by news organizations, that “There’s an element to this which is quite frustrating because they get away with it. The so-called mainstream media, even the so-called progressive media, is just not as relentless in rebutting, refuting and making clear that this is nothing but a play for profits at the cost of truth.”
Along with many on the left, the former secretary of state under Obama, who insists she’s not running for president in 2024, then seemed to call for censorship of opinions with which she disagrees.

“Tech companies, the rest of journalism, ordinary people with platforms, we haven’t done enough to point out the dangers, point out the falsehoods, point out the hypocrisy. There is a path to limit the damage they’ve done, but it requires leaders on the side of facts and evidence. We now have that with Biden, and he’s making slow progress in trying to open people’s minds and eyes to what reality actually is,” Chelsea’s mom, who perhaps put herself in the ordinary people category despite her wealth and privilege, asserted.
The elder Clinton, whose 2016 campaign reportedly help pay for the Steele dossier that was a key component of the Russiagate hoax, also slammed Facebook for allegedly being instrumental “in permitting Cambridge Analytica and the Trump campaign to engage in a massive campaign of mis- and disinformation” in 2016.
You can, of course, review the Variety interview in its entirety to get the full context of their remarks.
Positioning Joe Biden, however, as a champion of reality is a rather unique take. Hillary Clinton’s comment in that regard also appears to be yet another example of how misinformers lament misinformation.
It might also be observed that the left went from speaking truth to power to speaking power to truth.
