Fox News host Tucker Carlson responded late Thursday to calls from Chelsea Clinton, the wealthy, privileged and powerful daughter of former Democrat Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for him to be censored on Facebook.
Of late Carlson has been critical of the Biden administration’s mixed coronavirus vaccine messaging. While the administration says it wants the American people to get a vaccine, its top officials keep disincentivizing the getting of a vaccine by acting as if doing so won’t actually make a difference in people’s lives.
“At some point, no one’s asking this, but everyone should be, what is this about? If vaccines work, why are vaccinated people still banned from living normal lives? Honestly, what’s the answer to that?” he’d asked Tuesday evening.
Besides enraging administration officials like Dr. Fauci, these questions also angered Clinton, who responded by portraying Carlson’s line of legitimate questioning as a “debunked” conspiracy theory and suggesting he should be banned from Facebook.

The tweet above was posted Wednesday afternoon.
Carlson responded on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” a day later by mocking Clinton’s lack of medical qualifications and doubling down on his original point.
He started by reiterating that he’s not anti-vaccine.
“This show has been pretty adamantly pro-vaccine from the first day and remains that way, and because we do support science and do support vaccines and have faith in American science, we’d like really simple questions answered,” he said.
For instance, why are people who’ve contracted the coronavirus naturally also been asked to get a vaccine? Also, why are people who’ve been vaccinated being treated no different than people who haven’t been vaccinated?
“Lots of people have asked the obvious question: You get the vaccine, and you think it works, they’ve told you it works, but then they say you have to socially distance, stay indoors, you can’t go to restaurants and you have to wear a mask,” Carlson noted.

He then played a clip of Fauci trying to rationalize this discrepancy while testifying before Congress earlier that afternoon. To hear the allegedly esteemed doctor tell it, vaccinated Americans can still transmit the coronavirus.
The problem, Carlson continued, is that CDC Director Rochelle Walensky had said the exact opposite during an appearance on MSNBC just two weeks ago.
“Our data from the CDC today suggests that vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick, and that it’s not just in the clinical trials, but it’s also in real world data,” she’d said on March 29th.
This mixed messaging, the Fox News host argued, is a problem — though clearly “Dr. Chelsea Clinton” disagrees.
“Dr. Chelsea Clinton is mad that we asked super obvious questions that everyone in the country should be asking. But no one seems particularly angry to learn the people running this operation are total buffoons who can’t even coordinate their own talking points and can’t answer the most basic questions,” he said.
“So does the vaccine, and there are a couple of them, but do they work or don’t they work? It is okay, you can tell us. Well, the CEO of Pfizer came out and seemed to suggest today that actually, the dose that Pfizer is administering doesn’t work. The CEO of Pfizer now said two doses probably aren’t enough,” he added.
This is true.

“He said it is ‘likely that people will need a third dose’ of his company’s coronavirus vaccine within 12 months of getting fully vaccinated. I guess it is nice to know that now. We didn’t know that yesterday when Chelsea Clinton was trying to pull us off the air for asking questions that he partly answered,” Carlson continued.
“Thank you, CEO of Pfizer, glad to know. The CEO of Pfizer added it is possible people need to get vaccinated against coronavirus every year. Well, that is good to know, too,” he then concluded.
Carlson isn’t the first high-profile figure who’s excoriated the Biden administration for its mixed messaging on the coronavirus vaccine.
The backlash against the administration has been especially fervent this week because of its decision to halt the administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine:

Olivia Nuzzi pressed Jen Psaki today on whether fully vaccinated President Biden and VP Harris should still be wearing masks — doesn’t that lead to vaccine hesitancy too? (The press secretary didn’t seem to understand the question.),” journalist Steve Krakauer wrote this week in his FourthWatch newsletter.
“Trust the experts they say! These experts, who are still jumping on our media outlets with their doom and gloom predictions and getting them wrong, over and over again?”
