Fired CNN host Brian Stelter enjoys soft landing with image-salvaging Harvard gig

Biden administration apologist Brian Stelter is going to Harvard.

The former CNN chief media correspondent has a new gig at the once-prestigious Ivy League institution that is now woke central where he can continue to bash Donald Trump and Fox News and ignore everything else that is going on the world, especially in corporate journalism.

The Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School has named the fired, self-unaware host of the misnamed “Reliable Sources” show that hardly anyone watched a fellow, which is a term in academia sometimes extending to connected individuals (such as far left NYC mayor Bill de Blasio) seeking a temporary or permanent sinecure after their careers reach a dead-end elsewhere.

As the Walter Shorenstein Fellow, Stelter will convene a series of discussions about threats to democracy and the range of potential responses from the news media,” the announcement explained about the journalist whom Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson has nicknamed the eunuch and others have described as ousted CNN president Jeff Zucker‘s mini-me.

Shorenstein claims that Stelter is “a nationally recognized media reporter and expert on the state of journalism.”

Admittedly he is nationally recognized, but it’s not for any particular expertise in his profession or alleged profession.

The projection is by now getting a little repetitive, but pro-censorship, authoritarian liberals have positioned themselves as democracy protectors in this election season.

To make matters worse, “Stelter thinks of the fellowship as bringing the ‘Reliable Sources’ show to campus — holding 60-minute discussions about media and democracy, instead of six-minute chats on TV,” Axios claimed.

According to Bobby Burack of Outkick, “For Stelter, it’s a natural fit. CNN and Harvard share many similarities. Privileged snobs make up the roster at both institutions…CNN and Harvard scowl at those who do not share an always-evolving progressive worldview. Just 6% of Harvard students have conservative values, while only about 9% of CNN viewers lean Right…Society brands Ivy institutions as superior in knowledge — they are not. Rather, Harvard and Yale are indoctrination camps for groupthink.”

Reports have emerged that new CNN boss Chris Licht wants to move away from liberal opinion and toward straight news, for which CNN originally made its name, and if that’s accurate, canceling Stelter’s show was one of the first dominos to fall on the channel that former President Trump branded very fake news.

It remains to be seen if across-the-board changes in CNN content will actually occur, however, especially given Licht’s resume: He came to the cable network from his role as executive producer of Stephen Colbert’s aggressively pro-Democrat CBS offering. Licht also co-created the “Morning Joe” show while working at MSNBC.

Apart from all the congratulatory messages from the blue-check contingent, Brian Stelter and Cambridge, Mass.-based Harvard are getting roasted on Twitter.
