Tucker: Biden is ‘single most destructive force’ in U.S. history, it’s not simple incompetence

It ain’t easy being an optimist these days.

And it certainly doesn’t help that we’re all living through the collective nightmare that is Joe Biden’s America. For anyone harboring doubts about that, Tucker Carlson managed to paint a grim, if accurate, portrait Wednesday night of the dysfunction plaguing the country under its current leadership…or lack thereof.

“If you’re looking at the country,” Carlson opened his “Tucker Carlson Tonight” monologue, “and thinking ‘how do you measure the health of the United States,’ there are pretty obvious ways to do it: the average life expectancy is one, the marriage rate, the effectiveness of the US military, housing costs, the value of the US dollar, the health of the financial markets, the safety of our streets, etc.

“By every single one of those very basic measures, the Biden administration has failed, and done so dramatically. Biden isn’t simply incompetent, though obviously he is, Biden is the single most destructive force in the history of the United States. In just a year and a half, Biden and Ron Klain—his strange, shadowy chief of staff—have done more damage to this country than anybody could possibly have imagined.”

Carlson then went on to quote a story from “reliably liberal financial news outlet” CNBC, which captures the American zeitgeist about as well as anything else. The story was about the migration of Californians to—of all places—Mexico, seeking a “more relaxed and affordable lifestyle.”

“So things are so bad,” Carlson continued, “in Joe Biden’s America, that thousands of Americans are voluntarily moving to a Third World country in the middle of a brutal drug war. Yes, there are human heads littering the side of the road in Acapulco, but at least it’s not Los Angeles.”

There’s something humorous about the novelty of Californians pouring into Mexico—a sort of reverse invasion, a belated payback for the decades of “mass migration” into our country. Now Californian refugees aren’t just a plague on states like Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Florida, even Mexico is getting in on the action. In fact, there are so many Californian migrants in Mexico, Carlson explains, they’re even pricing the locals out of the housing market.

To which most Americans will say: “Welcome to the club.”

“So it’s mass migration in reverse,” Carlson said. “It’s pretty amazing. No matter how bad you thought this administration was going to be, you probably could not have imagined—ever—caravans of Biden refugees fleeing our country across the southern border, looking for a better life in Mexico. At this rate, the next stop will be Port-au-Prince; say what you will about Haiti, it’s better than Baltimore.”

Carlson then observed that the refugees would at least be in good company, since all polling is indicating that Hispanics despise Biden just as much as pretty much everyone else who doesn’t live in northern Virginia or the toniest zip codes in New York, Chicago, or California. He then cited polls showing that support for Biden among self-described “Latinos” has dropped to 24%—the lowest of any demographic—and that their preferred candidate for 2024 is “the ‘Taco Bowl Guy,’ Donald J. Trump.”

“Latinos dislike Joe Biden intensely,” Carlson explained, “and they dislike him for the same reason that everybody else does: Biden has made things worse, a lot worse.”

You can say that again.
