Senior editor at Vox fantasizes about Justice Alito’s death with creepy ‘obituary’ tweet

The fantasies of leftist journalists are getting more bizarre and macabre with each passing day.

Take Ian Millhiser, for instance. He’s a senior editor at Vox, and his most recent contribution to the already precarious sanity of his readership is a fantasy “prewritten obituary” for Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.

Millhiser wrote, in a since-deleted tweet, that he was updating some of his “prewritten obituaries” during what he says is the “slow month” of August; so naturally, he chose to share his thoughts, which no one had asked for or was interested in, about Justice Alito’s future death. It’s definitely not the sort of thing a healthy or well-adjusted mind would choose to write about, which is why it was the perfect subject matter for Vox’s audience.

“It is considered to be quite gauche to speak ill of the recently deceased,” Millhiser’s phony obituary begins. “Justice Samuel Alito, who died on XXXX, was not devoid of any positive traits. He was a skilled attorney and a highly effective advocate for conservative causes.”

“Had he spent his career as a litigator, he would almost certainly be remembered as one of the Republican Party’s leading Supreme Court practitioners,” the fake piece continues. “The problem is that Justice Alito was, indeed, one of the Republican Party’s leading Supreme Court advocates—but he embraced this role while he was a sitting justice.”

With boring predictability, Millhiser laments that Alito is a radical, partisan judge whose conservative inclinations are reflected in his judicial pronouncements.

All this comes as unhinged and potentially deadly leftist rhetoric has increased in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to finally overturn Roe v. Wade. It was just recently that 26-year-old Nicholas John Roske threatened to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“I could get at least one, which would change the votes for decades to come, and I am shooting for 3 all of the major decisions for the past 10 years have been along party lines so if there are more liberal than conservative judges, they will have the power,” Roske posted on Reddit.

And although it’s common practice for some journalists to compose creepy “prewritten obituaries” for public figures, why Millhiser decided to release his Alito obituary now is anyone’s guess. He quickly deleted the tweet, but screenshots will preserve its glorious weirdness for ages to come.

In any case, the reaction on Twitter was swift and mostly on point.
