The Los Angeles area tragically lost two officers Tuesday after they were killed in the line of duty and the blame is being put on Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) and LA County District Attorney George Gascón for creating “a breeding ground of evil and misery.”
The officers from the City of El Monte Police Department, east of LA, were responding to reports of a possible stabbing at a motel just before 5 p.m. Tuesday. According to authorities, when the officers arrived at the Siesta Inn they were immediately met with gunfire and a shootout began that resulted in the suspect being shot before later being pronounced dead at the scene.
Having sustained injuries during the battle, the two wounded officers were transported to LAC-USC Medical Center as soon as possible. It was there that they succumbed to their injuries.
At this time, the identities of neither officer have been revealed, but Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Capt. Andrew Meyer explained that one was a 22-year veteran on the force and the other had spent less than one year on duty.
As with many major metropolitan areas governed by progressive Democrats, the Los Angeles area has been wracked with violent crime as the DA’s policies routinely allow criminals to walk only to commit further offenses. Actor James Woods drew attention to this when he weighed in on the death of the officers, calling out Newsom and Gascón for fostering the environment that led to the tragedy.

Gascón is facing a second recall effort from the citizens of Los Angeles who have grown fed up with the increased dangers posed by his leniency toward criminals.

In a joint statement released by the City of El Monte, El Monte Police Department, and the El Monte Police Officers Association, the organization expressed its collective outrage in more somber tones.
“There are no words to describe our grief and devastation by this senseless act as we learned about the passing of two of our police officers,” they wrote. “It weighs heavy on our hearts and we are sending our support to their families. We would also like to thank the El Monte community and our surrounding government agencies for the outpouring of support we have received in the last few hours.”
Similarly, El Monte Interim Police Chief Ben Lowry was reported by ABC 7 as saying, “These two heroes paid the ultimate sacrifice. Today they were murdered by a coward.”

The LASD also offered their respects for the slain officers, “Our hearts and prayers go out to the [El Monte Police] and the loved ones of the two officers who were murdered this evening in the line of duty. Thank you for your service to the community. Rest In Peace.”
Tuesday night, a procession of nearly all El Monte Police Officers drove to LAC-USC Medical Center where they received the bodies of the officers before walking on foot to transport the victims to the nearby coroner’s office.
In addition to the deaths of these two officers, a 27-year-old California Highway Patrol officer had been shot multiple times in an unrelated incident the day before and was reported to be in critical but stable condition. A suspect was said to have surrendered to police Tuesday at a homeless encampment as part of that investigation.

You couldn’t pay me enough to be a cop in today’s America. The chance of being killed or sued by city hall or some thugs family is simply to great. At least in the military you are allowed to shoot back.

The police should get retribution at the correct places. They know who is responsible.
