‘We’re coming for you, bro!’: Bannon goes off on Bill Barr over Jan 6 testimony

Bill Barr better watch his six — proverbially speaking, of course.

Now he has an irate Steve Bannon on his case, and that’s something no one needs. During the latest episode of Bannon’s “War Room: Pandemic,” Bannon wasn’t pleased with former Trump Attorney General Bill Barr’s attempts to get in good with the Washington establishment.

Barr has repeatedly dismissed Trump’s claims that the 2020 election wasn’t exactly the freest and fairest election in world history, which mainstream media outlets and Washington types have been repeating like a mantra.

He’s also dismissed the provocative efforts of filmmakers like Dinesh D’Souza, whose “2000 Mules” documentary has raised some interesting questions.

“We take this very seriously,” Bannon said on his show, “because 13 or 14 generations of this country have sacrificed to hand us the Republic that we have. And we’re not going to be blown off by somebody like Bill Barr. Bill Barr, we’re coming for you, bro. You’re sitting there lying about this, if you had any decency whatsoever you’d have reached out to Catherine Engelbrecht before you smeared her; you’d have reached out to Dinesh D’Souza before you smeared him.”

Bannon also ripped into Barr for not properly investigating the legitimate claims of election fraud surrounding the 2020 election. Barr was hardly alone among government officials in his dereliction of duty in 2020, but his high position in the Trump administration made it particularly egregious.

“This is the type of crap that we’re stopping,” Bannon continued. “You’re just not gonna sit there and phone this in and throw in a couple of lines. We’re gonna deconstruct this, and we’re gonna rub your nose in it, and then we’re going to come after you legally. We’re not just going to sit here anymore. The days of the deplorables and the days of MAGA just sitting there and our betters telling us what it is [are over].”

Catherine Engelbrecht, the founder of “True the Vote,” was Bannon’s guest, and she agreed with his assessment of Barr’s testimony.

“I was disappointed to see Bill Barr do it, but not surprised,” she said.

On Friday’s podcast, Bannon dared Attorney General Merrick Garland to pursue charges against Trump over the protest at the U.S. Capitol, threatening impeachment while repeating previous claims that the 2020 election was stolen.

“Trump won the presidency,” Bannon said. “And he is the legitimate president of the United States and your guy is illegitimate, and the American People are awakening to that.”

“I dare Merrick Garland to take that crap there last night, and try to indict Donald J. Trump,” he added. “We dare you because we will impeach. We’re winning in November and we’re going to impeach you and everyone around you. Screw the White House, we’re going to impeach you and everyone at DOJ.”
