A UK art professor whose livelihood was thrust into doubt after she lost her accreditation following innocent remarks about Meghan Markle is fighting back, taking legal action claiming a breach of contract by a national arts organization.
Dr. Anne Anderson who is an honorary professor at the esteemed Exeter University was thrust into a living hell after she made comments about the Duchess of Sussex prior to a Zoom lecture on IKEA furniture last year during small-talk about Markle and her emasculated husband Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, words that would be used to smear her as a racist and cut off a major source of her income.
Before she delivered her talk, “How we got IKEA: Scandinavian Design 1880-1960,” to members of the Arts Society’s Truro branch, the topic turned to the royal couple’s chat with Oprah when she referred to the actress turned duchess as “the dreaded Meghan Markle,” she also remarked “Oh dear, you couldn’t turn the television on without some person of a colourful disposition having a moan about something,” clearly a reference to her attitude and not her skin pigmentation.
The Arts Society which has accredited her for almost three decades removed the status after a complaint was filed. “I have lost three quarters of my income,” Anderson told the Daily Mail. “I can’t sleep.”
According to the Daily Mail, “The academic had numerous lecturing contracts cancelled after Florian Schweizer, the Arts Society’s chief executive, emailed 300 of its officers around the country, alerting them her accreditation had been removed while conceding they could still book her ‘at their own risk.”
She said that at the time when she made her remarks that nobody viewing the lecture appeared to be upset but “days later Anderson received an email from Schweizer telling her that her accreditation had been removed because of her ‘racist’ language,” the outlet reported.
The accusation that she had made “racist” comments was eventually dismissed by an Arts Society panel but the organization ordered her to write apology letters and undergo diversity training which she declined to do, resulting in the loss of her accreditation. Anderson pointed out that she “has gay and non-white friends,” the Daily Mail reported.
Anderson also spoke with Newsweek about her legal action, “I have got a solicitor to help write the pre-action letter.”
“I think a lot of feelings were riding high at that point in that she was sat in her lovely Californian garden and we were in total lockdown in March. No Californian sunshine for us. The fact she was just moaning about her lot in life when our lot in life appeared to be a lot worse didn’t seem very appropriate,” she explained to the outlet. “We just basically let off a bit of steam about the interview and the media’s response, to which I referred to her as ‘the dreaded Meghan’ and I also referred to the media response as being a ‘colourful disposition’.”
In a statement to Newsweek, the Arts Society justified its decision to yank Anderson’s accreditation, saying, “The decision to remove Dr. Anderson’s accreditation was regrettable but necessary.
“First, Dr. Anderson failed to comply with some of the conditions imposed on her by the complaints panel on 19 April 2021, following the panel’s investigation into an allegation of racism. Secondly, by speaking to the press with an untrue account of the facts and the complaints procedure, she brought The Arts Society into disrepute,” the organization said. “The decision to remove her accreditation was therefore appropriate in the circumstances.”
In the Oprah interview, “the dreaded Meghan” whined about her relationship with the Royal Family whom she accused of being – you guessed it – racist.

“Racist” language? No, simply some slight criticism of an individual over her public behavior and/or comments. So what else is new? Oh right! This one is half black so that makes a slight criticism over her behavior or comment “RACIAL”! That is somewhat similar to the same strange think that makes black criminal behavior not criminal (and we have seen quite a bit of that lately as well). These are facts but my guess is that I will be labeled for stating them.

The “Arts Society” is its own disrepute. It is a Stalinist Show Trial Kangaroo Court operation.
The ubiquitous use of “racist” by all leftists as a counter to words and deeds by non leftists has so debased this terminology, that it has become meaningless. Please find another smear tactic, as this one has run its course!
