Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) told Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria” on Monday that she had visited the border after agents sent her pictures of baby formula being stockpiled there during the nationwide shortage, and the facts on the ground were “exactly how we have been stating them.”
She reported that there were “multiple stocked warehouses” of formula and added, “there’s more en route.” Camack also contended that the entire situation shows just “how out of touch” the Biden administration is.
“Yesterday, I was on the border myself, and the facts on the ground are exactly how we have been stating them,” she claimed.
“You know, last week, I received text messages and photos from border patrol agents showing a stockpile of baby formula, and there was complete outrage from the White House and CNN and other liberal outlets claiming that we were lying, so I decided to go down myself and film it, and low and behold, not only was there stocked warehouses, but there were multiple stocked warehouses that have been not only filled with baby formula and diapers and wipes and clothing, but they have been doing this for months. And there’s more en route. And this just points, again, to how out of touch this administration is, and they could stop this with a simple policy change,” Camack said slamming the Biden administration over the issue.

She went on to excoriate Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, calling him a liar for claiming that the Biden administration had been working “from day one” to fix the calamitous shortage.
“And to the Secretary of Transportation’s remarks that they have been on top of this from day one? That is a lie,” Cammack bluntly asserted. “They canceled 43 percent of this manufacturer’s production with no plan to backfill that market share that they make up, so how have they been on top of this? Because moms for months have been saying it was getting harder and harder to find formula. This is just another example of the broken administration that doesn’t know how to govern.”
“Biden is sending pallets of baby formula to the border,” Cammack wrote on Facebook earlier in the week. “Meanwhile, store shelves across America are empty and moms are being told they don’t know when more is coming in. Welcome to Biden’s America where American moms and dads are last.”
Meanwhile, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) is demanding that the Department of Homeland Security and the Food and Drug Administration provide information on the steps they are taking to rectify the nationwide shortage of baby formula in light of reports that illegal immigrants detained by federal authorities are receiving “pallets” of formula at detention centers.
“As hard-working American parents struggle to find infant formula, a recent news report indicated that illegal immigrants detained by Border Patrol may not be experiencing these difficulties,” Johnson penned in a letter on Friday that was sent to Biden administration leaders according to the Washington Free Beacon.
“A member of Congress reportedly obtained photographs from a Border Patrol agent showing that shelves at a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) detention center in McAllen, Texas, are stocked with ‘pallets’ of baby formula,” he pointed out referring to Cammack’s charge.

“The Biden administration is not doing all it can to increase product availability,” he charged. “For instance, the federal government could eliminate tariffs of up to 17.5 percent and tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) on imported infant formula.”
Johnson posits that the “Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and United States Trade Representative (USTR) owes the public a detailed explanation about the steps the agencies are taking to ensure parents and their babies have access to infant formula.”
“The assurances made by an untrustworthy administration and the lack of action do little to subdue the frustrations and anxieties of many parents that see a dwindling supply of infant formula for their babies,” he wrote. “The American people and parents have a right to be angry.”
