FBI investigates parents of alleged Buffalo shooter

In the wake of the tragic Buffalo shooting, investigators are casting a wide net to gather information while the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is reportedly questioning the suspect’s parents.

Though in many instances, conclusions have already been drawn regarding 18-year-old Payton Gendron, a robust investigation is still underway to comprehend the means, motive, and any possible connections others may have with the suspect. Facing multiple first-degree murder charges related to the shooting of at least 13 individuals at a Buffalo, N.Y. grocery store that resulted in 10 deaths, the suspect’s parents Paul and Pamela Gendron are currently cooperating with investigators.

As reported by the New York Post, the FBI has begun interviewing Gendron’s parents as part of their broader investigation into Saturday’s shooting. Both are employees of New York State’s Department of Transportation where they serve as civil engineers.

The investigation has also led to a thorough search of the Gendron’s residence in Conklin, N.Y., approximately 200 miles from Buffalo. As previously reported, the suspect allegedly traveled to that particular grocery store because it had “the highest black percentage” nearest to his home.

Investigators began going through the contents of the Gendrons’ home Sunday, emptying out their garage and shed as they cataloged the contents. The FBI is also asking for assistance from the public in garnering more information via social media.

“If you have any images or video related to the shooting that occurred at the Tops Friendly Market on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo, New York, on May 14, please submit them,” the post read with a link to a portal on their website.

Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia explained, “There are warrants that will continue to be obtained both on the state and the federal levels will be looking at extensive digital platforms, computers, phones, cameras, and anything else that comes into play in this investigation,” according to ABC News.

The suspect had faced scrutiny in June of 2021 when New York State Police had investigated Gendron after reports of statements “indicating that he wanted to do a shooting, either at a graduation ceremony, or sometime after.”

His concerning behavior had allegedly included showing up to school wearing a hazmat suit, but the former student who recalled the incident suggested it may have “had something to do with protecting himself from the coronavirus, but she didn’t rule out the fact that he was making a joke.”

While the suspect’s mental state remains a central focus of the investigation, at least one neighbor reported that there were no overt indicators of concern in their limited interactions. “We spoke to her a couple times here and there,” neighbor Terry Place said of the suspect’s mother whom he knew for taking morning walks down the street over the years. The suspect, he recalled, was only remembered as once being his paperboy.

  1. This killer spent considerable time preparing for this, most likely at home, and his so-called “parents” were oblivious to all of it? Sterilize them both so they can never procreate again. Appalling lack of awareness.

  2. “If you have any images or video related to the shooting that occurred at the Tops Friendly Market on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo, New York, on May 14, please submit them,” the post read with a link to a portal on their website.”

Do NOT do this. The FBI will add you to its snitch database.

  3. It may not ever come out, but I PROMISE one and all he has been taking psychotropic drugs since he was 6 years old. The one common ground most mass shooters share.

  4. The Democrats build them then blame others. Conservatives aren’t crazy radicals. Libs are dangerous.

  5. Does the FBI investigate the dozens of black on black murderers in major cities every night??? Or the parents who do nothing about their own gang thugs??? I’ll wait……

  6. So now we know he ‘identifies’ as an authoritarian leftist white supremacist (kkk anyone?) who hates everybody, especially blacks, jews and Christians.
So much for “it’s Trump and Carlson’s and Fox News fault! The boy says he hates Fox News, Republicans…
I wonder if he met anyone he ever liked?

  7. Maybe the fbi should investigate the local pta first. The fbi is no more than the political arm of the dnc, corn pop, and mertyl gartner!

  8. He might have killed some peaceloving Christians also. Stupid kid jumping the gun. Obviously brought up in a well to do home. This is the kind of thing that the media will jump on in a heart beat. He played right into the anti-second amendment crowd as well as all the dems crowd. Remember what God did to Saul of Tarsus. Of course he killed a whole lot more than 10 Christians.
