The liberal ladies on “The View’ have identified a “perfect” way that they can protect or defend abortion rights: withholding intimacy in the bedroom.
Donald Trump Jr. isn’t convinced it will work, however.
With co-host Whoopi Goldberg nodding approvingly, Joy Behar provided a history lesson to her colleagues at the table as she read from a card that was handed to her before the show by production staff:
“Women in the world have conducted sex strikes in history. In 2003, a sex strike helped to end Liberia’s brutal civil war, and the woman who started it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2009, Kenyan women enforced a sex ban until political infighting ceased. Within one week, there was a stable government. We have more power than we think we have, and some of it could be right in the bedroom, just saying,” Behar asserted on the long-running ABC daytime show in the video clip embedded above.
“I don’t think the ladies of the view participating in a ‘sex strike’ is going to have the effect that they intended. Just sayin…,” Trump Jr. quipped on Twitter.

What the former first son might be implying is that at age 79 and 66, respectively, Behar and Goldberg may no longer have the leverage they once had, but that would perhaps be another example of pro-choice.
Co-host Sarah Haines described the idea, however, as a “perfect and effective weapon,” while her colleague Sunny Hostin admitted that it “could be quite effective.”
Last month, a self-described political branding strategist who claims her Twitter account “kills fascism” proposed a sex strike against any male Republican voters.
She also claimed, without evidence, that the GOP wants to take away legal birth control in addition to ending all abortions.

Likely reacting for partisan, political reasons, “The View” panel predictably joined other corporate media outlets in overreacting to Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion that, if finalized by the court majority, would overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade case and return the abortion rights issue to each state to regulate.
Goldberg, who has an estimated net worth of $60 million, chimed in with the tired talking point that the high court decision, assuming it ever becomes official in its current form, is a harbinger of a rollback of other rights (even though Alito specifically wrote that the opinion only applies to the abortion issue).
Really, Joy? Behar spreads fear that SCOTUS might vote for racial segregation again https://t.co/nqmxZjSeCu

Functioning as a refreshing voice of reason on the show, guest host Lindsey Granger pointed out that the Supreme Court has struck down longstanding precedent before, with Plessy v. Ferguson, as an example, as overruled by Brown v. Board of Education nearly 60 years later.
While Behar’s boycott is generating Twitter applause from the liberal cohort, others disagree. Here is just a small sampling:
Republican women are much more beautiful and sexy as well…hands down!

Then Joy Behar shouldn’t care if Roe vs Wade is overturned since if women followed her advice of a sex ban, they (Pro choice woman that would be open to getting their own abortion) would never need to get an abortion.

@JoyVBehar no offense Joy but I’m thinking you’re not having a choice in that ban

Who would have thought Joy Behar would be in favor of abstinence??
The evangelicals are really making headway this week!!

1) Calm down.
2) Abortion will still be legal, and likely expanded, in all blue states.
3) Don’t live in red states if you don’t like what they have to offer. MILLIONS are already doing the same with your blue states.— Hating Breitbart (@HatingBreitbart) May 4, 2022

I’m just saying a Joy Behar sex strike is an odd threat. Im always DRESSING her with my eyes! I imagine she’s in a suit of armor under a full space suit.
