Fox News host Tucker Carlson opened and ended the first segment of his show Friday evening by praising the jury in the Kyle Rittenhouse case for reaching the correct conclusion despite an onslaught of propaganda from the establishment press and fears of backlash from the left.

“Imagine being a juror on that case. Imagine the pressure and the fear. It would take enormous moral courage for any juror to ignore the threats and follow the evidence to its logical conclusion. So much courage that at times we doubted it was even possible in a country as politicized as ours now is,” he said at the beginning of the segment on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Despite the facts of the case clearly pointing to self-defense, there had been massive trepidation that the 18-year-old youth would be convicted and hauled off to prison for the remainder of his life.

“But as we learned today, it is still possible, thank God,” Carlson continued.

Rittenhouse was acquitted of all charges earlier Friday in the shooting, two fatal, of three extremists who’d chased after him during the 2020 Kenosha riots.

As previously reported, he’d shown up at the riots to provide medical aid and protect businesses, in part because his family members live in Kenosha.

“Remarkable. Months of relentless lying from the media about this case, in the end, had no effect whatsoever on the jury. Propaganda doesn’t always win. Today it was soundly defeated, thank God,” Carlson added.

He went on to repeat this refrain at the end of the segment.

“There are a lot of rational, decent, thoughtful people on all sides of all races in this country who are still willing to think clearly about what is right, what is wrong, what is factual, what is false, what is just and what is not. And today, they did,” he said.

“So that’s the real lesson here. In the face of all of that propaganda, a group of jurors in Kenosha, Wisconsin, were brave enough to reach the right and obvious conclusion anyway. Amen. Yay for America,” the host added.

He spent the remainder of the segment digging into why the left has been behaving like this and why they refuse to let up, even after being proven wrong yet again.

“Technically as a legal matter, this case is over. Kyle Rittenhouse has been proclaimed innocent in a court of law. He’s free to resume his life. For the authoritarians among us, this is a disaster, they can’t let it go,” the Fox News host’s commentary continued.

“Why? Because they understand the Rittenhouse case is a referendum on the most basic right of all, the ancient right of self-defense. If Kyle Rittenhouse can save his own life from the mob, then you can too. That drives them insane,” he added.

Indeed, journalist Andy Ngo has theorized that the left wants “street militants on their side to be able to physically beat or kill their victims without consequence.”

That’s why, he wrote in tweets posted late Friday, they’ve had nothing to say about violent Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters — like the ones Rittenhouse had shot, incidentally — being let off the hook.

It’s also why so many on the far-left took joy in Ngo being beaten bloody in 2019 while simply reporting on political protests in Portland, Oregon.

The anger over Rittenhouse being acquitted runs so deep that House Judiciary Committee chair Jerry Nadler, one of the most powerful Democrats in America, has called for the federal government to intervene.

Meanwhile, dozens of Democrats — from governors to mayors to members of Congress like Nadler — have issued statements claiming “white supremacy” won. The media have been touting the same talking point as well.

“It is to tell the current and future Kyle Rittenhouses of the world that they can engage in white vigilantism and be let off for it, be defended and protected for perpetuating white supremacy,” one MSNBC contributor said.

As a reminder, all three men whom Rittenhouse shot were white.

“White vigilantism, white supremacy, white, white, white, white, white. That was over the media all day long. What does that have to do with this case?” Carlson asked in confusion.

Nothing at all, except, it would seem, the left’s willingness to use race as a weapon to divide the country and acquire political power.

“It’s really, really dark [what they’re doing]. The rest of us should not allow them to get away with racializing this, allowing them to get away with attacking people on the basis of their skin color. That is always wrong,” Carlson continued.

“We would never engage in that. Never have. No one should do that. It divides the country. It’s immoral, flat out. But somehow to the crazy logic that governs their positions and deeds, they wind up defending child rapists and domestic abusers, elevating them to some sort of hero status,” he added.
