A video that went viral from a man who alleges he is the nephew of George Floyd raised eyebrows for seeming to suggest that jurors in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial could be exposed depending on the final verdict.
The now-deleted video was shared on Twitter showing Cortez Rice saying he knows people at the trial and that there are “cameras in there,” seeming to imply that jurors will allegedly be doxxed if they don’t deliver “the same results.”
“I ain’t even gonna name the people that I know that’s up in the Kenosha trial. But it’s cameras in there. It’s definitely cameras up in there. There’s definitely people taking pictures of the juries and everything like that,” Rice asserted in the video. “We know what’s going on, so we need the same results.”
Drone pilot and photographer John Curtis tweeted, “George Floyd’s nephew, Cortez Rice, makes a claim that he knows people taking photos of jurors during the Kyle Rittenhouse trial in Kenosha, Wisconsin. His goal is to dox jurors if they do not convict.”
Curtis went on to elaborate, “Cortez Rice was not blood related to George Floyd but has continuously referred to himself as Floyd’s nephew, although they were merely friends. Rice, a self-professed civil rights activist & advocate for the people, admins a private group on Facebook called ‘United We Walk.'”

Senior writer for Townhall.com Julio Rosas is very concerned about Rice’s threat, though he noted that he had not seen any “such activity.”
“I was in the courtroom on Friday and did not see such activity but this needs to be looked into because potential jurors on Monday said they were concerned for their safety/having their identities revealed. He could be talking big on social media but this is a very serious claim,” Rosas tweeted.

Rice was one of the protesters who reportedly clamored outside the door of Minneapolis Judge Regina Chu’s apartment after she prohibited cameras inside the trial of former police officer Kim Potter, who fatally shot Daunte Wright. Rice listed Wright in his video as one of the ones he’s seeking justice for in the Rittenhouse trial.

Rittenhouse is currently facing trial on six charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, in connection with the shooting deaths of two people and the injuring of another who attacked him during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in August of 2020. The incident followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake, who was left paralyzed. The trial is scheduled to resume Monday.
Rittenhouse has pleaded not guilty and his defense attorneys are claiming that the shootings were in self-defense.
One of Rittenhouse’s 20 jurors was dismissed Thursday for making a joke allegedly concerning Jacob Blake to a Kenosha deputy. The juror contended that his quip was unrelated to the case but Judge Bruce Schroeder dismissed him anyway.
Prosecutor Thomas Binger told the judge that, “It was my understanding it was something along the lines of, ‘Why did the Kenosha police shoot Jacob Blake seven times?’ Because they ran out of bullets.”
