Rodney Scott, the former Border Patrol chief who after 30 years of service was forced into retirement by the Biden administration, told Fox News’ Bret Baier that terrorists are trying to enter the U.S. through the porous southern border.
Scott sat down with the host in what is a two-part interview set to air on Tuesday and Wednesday night on the Fox News Channel.
“We have terrorist threats we can’t get into in this type of a forum, but they are real,” Scott said in a preview released on “Special Report” Monday.
“They exist, and they want to come across that border. Statistically, it always includes rapists, murderers, potential terrorists every single year if you look at CBP’s statistics publicly available. Those all exist in who we actually catch,” he said, adding, “To think there is not just as bad or worse people in those getting away would be naive.”
Baier asked the former chief, “When you hear Sec. Mayorkas say that the border is as secure now as it was before. What do you say?”
“That’s just not true,” Scott replied.

“While many of the political appointees assigned currently literally just lack the knowledge and expertise that they could make a statement like that and believe that it was true,” Scott said. “He [Mayorkas] is a very smart guy, He has got a lot of experience in Homeland Security. He knows what he’s doing. He knows the impacts. I have sat in a room and heard some of the comments he made. He knows what’s going on. And he knows that the border is not as secure today as it was on January 19th.”
The Biden regime has consistently misled the American people on the gravity of the border crisis, from calling it a “surge” that happens seasonally to clinging to the mischaracterization of border patrol agents as evildoers who take pleasure in whipping the backs of Haitian immigrants.
Even former President Obama has called Biden’s border policies “unsustainable.” Obama’s statement, however, was omitted from the airing of the interview on ABC News and could only be found online.
In another segment on “Special Report,” former ICE Director Tom Homan criticized the ineffectual manner in which the current administration is trying to handle the crisis at the border – or not trying to handle it as the case may be.

“Biden has proven again to the American people that he doesn’t believe in border security,” the former director said.
He said that Vice President Kamala Harris doesn’t need to go to Central America to find the “root causes” of unchecked illegal immigration. She simply needs to walk down the hall and knock on the Oval Office door.
“The Biden administration, there’s your ‘root causes’. His policies,” Homan concluded.
