Former President Barack Hussein Obama took what appeared to be a jab at current President Joe Biden’s failed border policies in an interview this week, but thanks to ABC News, few Americans may even be aware of this.

After conducting a sit-down interview with the former president, ABC News published a condensed version of the full video interview and also published a more detailed write-up denoting all of the points he’d made, according to Fox News.

But keen-eyed critics quickly noticed something foul.

The write-up of the interview shows that Obama admitted at one point that, while understandable from a human standpoint, the “open borders” sought by the far-left isn’t reasonable or sustainable from a practical standpoint.

“Immigration is tough. It always has been because, on the one hand, I think we are naturally a people that wants to help others. And we see tragedy and hardship and families that are desperately trying to get here so that their kids are safe, and they’re in some cases fleeing violence or catastrophe,” he said.

“At the same time, we’re a nation state. We have borders. The idea that we can just have open borders is something that … as a practical matter, is unsustainable,” the former president added.

Some took it as a jab at Biden, given as his policies have engendered an open-borders-like situation, with more and more illegals streaming across the border each month.

The problem, according to critics, is that this criticism of the far-left and Biden by proxy was excluded from the condensed video of the interview. Instead, the video only contained Obama’s criticism for Republicans.

“Comprehensive immigration reform has consistently gotten stuck partly because we can’t get enough Republicans to support it,” Obama says in the video version, as reported by Fox News.

This glaring omission struck critics as problematic and very likely indicative of the network’s left-wing bias. Data has long shown that Americans prefer watching the news to reading it. And so, if given the option to either watch the interview or read about it, chances are high ABC News’ audience will do the former.

“Overall, 47% of Americans prefer watching the news rather than reading or listening to it. That is unchanged from 46% in 2016 and outpaces the 34% who prefer to read the news and 19% who prefer to listen to it – both of which also remain on par with 2016 figures,” the Pew Research Center confirmed in late 2018.

Later Tuesday afternoon, Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich tried confronting White House press secretary Jen Psaki about the former president’s remarks.

“Does President Biden agree with President Obama that open borders is unsustainable?” she asked.

“We don’t have open borders. So, yes, he agrees,” Psaki replied.

But while the administration may not have an official open borders policy, its policies have been of an open-borders nature.

Even former Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii has noted as much.

“@JoeBiden @KamalaHarris, the humanitarian and national security crisis on the southern border is the direct result of your open-border policy. As I said in my 2020 presidential campaign, we can’t have a secure nation if we don’t secure our borders,” she tweeted last week.

“The Biden/Harris open-door policy has been a disaster. It needs to end now. The main beneficiaries of open borders are the gangs, cartels, and human traffickers. The Trump policy of having people wait on the other side of the border worked and needs to be reinstated,” her tweets continued.

She based her assessment on the actual evidence because, as the timeless adage goes, talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words.

This evidence includes a bombshell Associated Press report from earlier in the month that “many” of the Haitian migrants who were camping out along the southern U.S. border near Del Rio at the time “are being released in the United States, according to two U.S. officials, undercutting the Biden administration’s public statements that the thousands in the camp faced immediate expulsion to Haiti.”

The evidence also includes Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ stunning admission late last week that 12,400 Haitian migrants had indeed been released — and all without having been tested for COVID.

These are not the policies of a closed-borders nation, and to his credit, Obama seems to be aware of this. Though thanks to ABC News, nobody else save those who’re actually paying attention are likely aware as well.
