A just-released Quinnipiac University poll shows that President Biden’s approval rating among Hispanic Americans concerning the ever-expanding border crisis is even lower than that of Americans in general.
The poll came out on Wednesday and is certainly bad news for the current administration, at least in regards to the border situation. According to the poll, only 29 percent of Americans currently approve of Biden’s handling of the border crisis. Fifty-five percent disapprove and 15 percent did not have an opinion one way or another.
Since Biden came into office, the nation has witnessed record-breaking rates of illegal immigrants crossing the border as well as a staggering number of unaccompanied minors who require shelter, care, and processing.
Worse yet, only 27 percent of Hispanic Americans say they approve of Biden’s handling of the crisis. White Americans had an approval rate of 25 percent. The high mark of Biden’s approval rating over the border comes from 56 percent of black Americans.
“Though he gets generally positive numbers on his domestic strides as he nears his first 100 days in office, the president is confronting the same political quagmire south of the border that bedeviled his predecessor. The border with Mexico, and the people trying to cross it, loom as a familiar crisis,” stated Quinnipiac University
Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.

The Quinnipiac poll surveyed 1,237 U.S. adults between April 8 and 12. It has a margin of error of +/- 2%.
Approximately nine in ten Republicans and almost two-thirds of Independents disapprove of Biden’s border policies. Democrats approve of them by a 58%-21% margin.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is reporting that they encountered in excess of 171,000 illegal immigrants in March of 2021 alone. That’s a 400 percent increase over March 2020 according to the The Washington Post.
Republicans are incensed and alarmed by the exploding catastrophe at the border. They claim that Biden’s policies, which reversed much of what former President Trump implemented, are the cause of the massive border surge.

Meanwhile, Biden is blaming Trump for the influx of illegal immigrants. The president is still denying that there is a crisis on the southern border, even as his administration is reopening facilities to house thousands of unaccompanied minors who have found their way over the border. Even the media has asked the administration repeatedly what it plans to do about the crisis and what Biden’s immigration policy actually entails. No clear-cut answers have been forthcoming.
Critics of Biden’s approach to the surge at the border and his rejection of Trump’s policies claim that he has sent a message to traffickers, cartels, and those looking to cross the border illegally that it is safe to do so.
Vice President Kamala Harris was tasked with handling the situation at the border in March by President Biden. She has yet to visit the border. Instead, Harris claims that she plans to travel to Mexico and Guatemala soon to diplomatically meet with their leaders and discuss the problem. It is not known when she plans to make that trip.
Biden is not receiving any love from leftists over the border either. They are allegedly very frustrated with his perceived slow progress and reportedly point to his campaign promise to render a more humane immigration system.
The poll also showed an approval rating of 64 percent for Biden’s handling of the pandemic and a 50 percent approval on the economy.
