After nearly a year of treating New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo like the second coming of Christian savior Jesus Christ, a few Hollywood celebrities are kind of finally beginning to turn against him, though not over his nursing home scandal.
Rather, celebrities like Ashley Judd and Eva Longoria are turning against the governor — though not directly — over accusations of sexual harassment and bullying.
On Thursday the Time’s Up Foundation, a group formed amid the emergence of the #MeToo movement, released a statement calling for a “full and independent investigation” into the growing accusations against the embattled governor.
Both Judd and Longoria reportedly happen to be members of the group’s board.
“As reported widely yesterday, a former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo published an essay yesterday, detailing sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior she allegedly endured while working for the Governor. The Cuomo administration has denied the allegations,” Time’s Up president and CEO Tina Tchen said.
“Allegations of inappropriate behavior in any workplace are deeply troubling and should be addressed. We call on the Cuomo administration to conduct a full and independent investigation into these claims immediately.”

It’s assumed she’d been speaking on behalf of all board members, including Judd and Longoria, both of them Cuomo sycophants with a history of worshiping the man.
In 2019 Judd praised Cuomo for signing an anti-harassment bill into law, and last year Longoria joined dozens of other celebrities in lavishing the governor with praise for his handling — or what’s known now as mishandling — of the coronavirus pandemic.
Their ostensible about-face is certainly a start, though it bothered some critics that Time’s Up called for Cuomo to be investigated by his own administration.
Look at the criticism below:
Ludicrous! Are you in his pocket? Who would suggest a lying corrupt murderous psychopath handle the investigation of himself or his own office? This is insulting to the women he harassed. If you had any brains you’d be dangerous! You protect women? I think NOT! @LindseyBoylan

@TinaTchen Have you lost your ever loving mind? How in holy hell do you suggest the Cuomo Administration conduct an investigation on their on leader? You smacked every woman across the face with your statement. You are the most despicable representative of women in the world! Uh

This is a ridiculous statement. You expect a fair, full investigation to be done by the administration of the man being accused?
He’s a known bully! His staff are afraid of him.#DoBetter

Why have his own administration investigate him?

Rose McGowan, a Hollywood actress and prominent #MeToo activist known for her consistency (she didn’t rush to defend President Joe Biden when he was accused of sexual harassment by Tara Reade last year), is also speaking out against Cuomo.
Speaking with Fox News on Thursday, she called for a full investigation and also expressed her utter disgust at Cuomo, particularly given all the virtue-signaling he’d done amid the height of the #MeToo movement years earlier.
“The fact that [Cuomo] was still doing it after the Weinstein allegations and during the #MeToo movement is egregious and disgusting. It just shows the level of sociopathy that those at the highest levels of power have,” she said.
She likewise expressed support for the governor’s accuser, Lindsey Boylan.
“I completely stand by Lindsey Boylan. Its truth leaks from every word on the screen that she wrote. She, none of us, should endure what she endured. If they’re doing it to her, what are they doing to constituents? What is he going to do to what he considers the little people? It’s monstrous,” McGowan said.
The allegations from Boylan are that Cuomo sexually harassed her and, at one point, went so far as to kiss her “on the lips” without warning or permission.
The governor has, of course, denied everything, just like he’s seemingly denied that his administration failed to protect nursing home patients.
“As we said before, Ms. Boylan’s claims of inappropriate behavior are quite simply false,” Cuomo’s press secretary, Caitlin Girouard, said in a statement Wednesday.

She also shared a statement from four state officials who admit that Boylan and Cuomo had been together on an October 2017 flight where Boylan claims some of the sexual harassment occurred, but deny that the harassment actually occurred.
It’s not clear whether the governor and his staff realized that they just confirmed Boylan’s timeline, thus adding credibility to her already strong allegations.
All this comes as Cuomo is already facing calls for his impeachment and ouster — as well as plans for his replacement — over his mishandling of the coronavirus crisis, his attempts to cover up his mishandling of the crisis and his attempts to now blame his own failures on his GOP opponents.
