‘You are a fraud’: Alyssa Milano’s attempt to justify reaction to sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden blows up

Left-wing actress Alyssa Milano has always been a fraud, according to many a critic, but her embrace of 2020 Democratic candidate Joe Biden may very well seal the deal.

Not only has Milano, an outspoken voice of the #MeToo movement, endorsed Biden, she continues to stand by him amid allegations of sexual assault.

Taking to Twitter, the actress linked to a recent appearance on Sirius XM to explain her silence on the allegations.

Former staffer Tara Reade accused Biden of inappropriate touching last spring, and newly reported details allege that then-Sen. Biden forcibly penetrated Reade against her will with his fingers in 1993.

“I was wearing a blouse, and he just had me up against the wall, and the wall was cold,” Reade said. “And I remember he … it happened all at once. The gym bag, I don’t know where it went. I handed it to him and it was gone, and his hands were on me and underneath my clothes. And then he went down my skirt and then up inside it and he penetrated me with his fingers.”

“He was kissing me at the same time, and … I remember him saying as he was doing it, ‘Do you want to go somewhere else?’” she continued. “He got finished doing what he was doing, and I tried to pull back, and he said, ‘C’mon man, I heard you liked me!’”

Milano downplayed Reade’s accusations in an appearance on the “Andy Cohen Live” SiriusXM radio show, saying Biden is a “decent man” entitled to “due process,” while stressing that the media isn’t jumping on the claim so it must be dubious.

“I believe that even though we should believe women and that is an important thing,” Milano stated, “that doesn’t mean at the expense of not giving men their due process and investigation the situation. It’s gotta be fair in both directions.”

“I just don’t feel comfortable throwing away a decent man that I have known for 15 years in this time of complete chaos without there being a thorough investigation,” she said. “I’m sure mainstream media would be jumping all of this as well … if they found more evidence. I’m just kind of staying quiet about it.”

The actress fiercely opposed the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court and said she was present at the hearings because “it was important to stand in solidarity” with Christine Blasey Ford, who leveled accusations from over 40 years ago.

“It was a very hard day to be in that room,” Milano said at the time. “But I was proud to be a woman and I was proud to be a survivor, and I felt like I needed to be there for other survivors that couldn’t be there.”

She also spoke about how Kavanaugh breathed “almost like an animal.”

In other tweets Monday, Milano attempted to redefine her fervid stance at the time of the confirmation that women are to be believed, reiterating her newfound embrace of due process.

Rose McGowan, a #MeToo activist who said she was raped by convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein, pushed back hard, calling Milano “a fraud.”

“You are a fraud,” McGowan said, in reply to Milano’s tweet. “This is about holding the media accountable. You go after Trump & Kavanaugh saying Believe Victims, you are a lie. You have always been a lie. The corrupt DNC is in on the smear job of Tara Reade, so are you. SHAME.”

Then again, McGowan has never minced words when it comes to her views of Milano, as seen in a January 2018 video where she called her former “Charmed” co-star “a lie” over her involvement with the #MeToo movement.

The reaction online suggests that Milano has destroyed what credibility she may have had — fortunately for her, she can still count on her liberal media allies to prop her up as a respected voice.
