Gov Cuomo, media raked over the coals following devastating report on real nursing home covid deaths

The disastrous decision by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to send thousands of COVID-positive patients into nursing homes is turning out to be far worse than originally acknowledged by his health department. This revelation comes against the backdrop of the overbearing, arrogant Democrat having spent a lot of time patting himself on the back for doing a great job during the pandemic, to the point of publishing a book touting his leadership. Cuomo even won an Emmy for the grandstanding way he handled the daily COVID press conferences.

The new and highly disturbing information in this unfolding scandal, which runs counter to the corporate media’s fawning coverage of CNN anchor Chris Cuomo’s big brother, is particularly notable in that it was released by Letitia James, the state’s far-left, anti-Trump attorney general.

“James’s report shows that nursing homes were even deadlier than previously thought,” the New York Post declared.

The Post summarized the AG’s findings from a 76-page report (emphasis added):

“As part of the report, James’ investigators surveyed 62 nursing homes across the state and found that 1,914 residents from those facilities either died there or at nearby hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus or exhibiting symptoms of the deadly disease. That figure was 56 percent higher than the numbers for those facilities published by the state Department of Health…

“If that undercount is consistent across the entire state — it would push the number of nursing home deaths from the current tally of 8,711 presumed and confirmed coronavirus cases to more than 13,000.”

The Cuomo administration allegedly only counted those infected persons who died at nursing homes rather than including those who passed away in the hospital after being transported there from nursing homes.

The report goes on to suggest that about 30 percent of the state’s total COVID-related fatalities occurred in nursing homes and that many of these facilities allegedly failed to isolate residents who had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Democrats like Cuomo consider themselves the party of science.

Reaction on social media and in the political world generally to this breaking news about a potential massive coverup is still unfolding.

U.S. Rep. and GOP rising star Elise Stefanik didn’t mince words, however: “The Worst Governor in America and his sycophant hacks will try to blame the nursing homes. Don’t let them get away with it. This is Cuomo’s crime and his staff’s criminal coverup.”

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz quipped that “I’m sure CNN will cover this diligently.”

Cuomo apologists are trying to deflect, but others are also weighing in, including Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean who lost both her in-laws, who lived in eldercare housing, to the virus:

Prior to the AG report, New York Republicans were reportedly even touting the traditionally apolitical Dean, who has become Gov. Cuomo’s critic in chief for his mishandling of the pandemic response, as a potential candidate for governor in 2022.
