Throughout its long history, “Saturday Night Live” tilted left, but still often found liberal politics funny and worth skewering.
Not today. The current cast is all-woke, anti-Trump, pro-Democrat all the time. Which means former “SNL” star Rob Schneider likely couldn’t get hired there today, once the cancel culture got a peek at his Twitter feed.
On Saturday, Schneider, a father of three, took a shot at the lockdown policies and COVID-prevention measures in schools. And the funnyman was not amused.
“We are witnessing a new kind of child abuse: bought and paid for with YOUR tax dollars,” Schneider tweeted. “The collapse of public schools who follow this example will surely follow. History will not look back at this kindly.

The tweet was based on a video of a school in South Carolina. The teacher had taken it to show the plexiglass pods the school district had erected. In the video she questions whether the local school board considered the impact on kids before installing such a system.
Local media in South Carolina noted the school district has asked her to take the video down.
Schneider’s tweet emerged a day after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated guidelines on school infections.
“Based on the data available, in-person learning in schools has not been associated with substantial community transmission,” the CDC noted. “Evidence suggests that staff-to-staff transmission is more common than transmission from students to staff, staff to student, or student to student.”
The CDC added, “Compared with adults, children and adolescents who have COVID-19 are more commonly asymptomatic (never develop symptoms) or have mild, non-specific symptoms.” Still, to prevent outbreaks, the agency noted, “Transmission spread within schools can be limited with strict implementation of layered mitigation strategies.”
Those practices include: consistent and correct use of masks, physical distancing, handwashing and respiratory etiquette, cleaning and ventilation, and contact tracing in combination with isolation and quarantine. On a different page, the CDC showed that installing physical barriers is far lower on its list of mitigation strategies than the former.
His post on Saturday came a few days after Schneider fired another salvo at teachers who refuse to work during the pandemic, and the politicians who let them.

Schneider, however, has had more to criticize than schools when it comes to left-wing COVID policy.
For example, he recently came out in favor of the recall of California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.
