CNN, MSNBC, ABC and other mainstream media were lampooned after a video supercut of the anti-Trump networks surfaced, showing them elevating, celebrating, and hyping convicted felon Michael Avenatti.

In 2018 and 2019, Avenatti appeared on CNN and MSNBC hundreds of times to promote his failed presidential campaign, which he vowed would defeat President Trump.

Left-wing cable news networks spotlighted Avenatti a staggering 254 times in 2019. Not surprisingly, CNN and MSNBC were the top enablers, featuring Avenatti 121 and 108 times, respectively, according to the Media Research Center. Fox News only had him on twice in 2019.

The Washington Free Beacon re-upped its supercut of the mainstream media rabidly fawning over Avenatti. The video was revived because Avenatti was found guilty in his extortion trial on Feb. 14.

Numerous other lawsuits against the fallen left-wing hero are pending, accusing him of embezzling funds from his own clients. However, throughout 2018 and 2019, CNN, MSNBC, ABC and other media hailed Avenatti as the “Savior of the Republic” and a “folk hero.”

In so doing, Avenatti got hundreds of millions of dollars in free media exposure. The left-wing media are why Avenatti became so famous and powerful before his epic downfall.

Fox News political analyst Brit Hume tweeted: “How’d you like to be featured in this montage? Are the people in it capable of embarrassment?”

Pollster Frank Luntz said the media should apologize for gaslighting the public by elevating the shady Avenatti as a hero.

Luntz tweeted: “CNN and MSNBC featured Michael Avenatti on their networks a combined 108 times within a 2-month span. We need on-air mea culpas, not an email newsletter blaming it on Fox News.”

Luntz was reacting to a newsletter post by CNN’s Brian Stelter (aka – “Humpty-Dumpty”), where he claimed that the “right-wing media” were celebrating Avenatti’s conviction.

For the record, Stelter gleefully interviewed Avenatti numerous times, and repeatedly hyped his chances to win the Democratic presidential nomination.

On Feb. 14, a jury found Avenatti guilty on three counts of extorting Nike after he allegedly threatened to accuse the apparel giant of illegally paying amateur basketball players unless Nike paid him $25 million.

Avenatti was also found guilty of betraying his client (a youth basketball coach) by going behind his back to extort Nike for money to line his own pockets.

Avenatti is still facing numerous lawsuits from former clients accusing him of embezzling money. One is former porn star Stormy Daniels, whom Avenatti exploited to get famous in his vendetta to take down President Trump.

One of the few media personalities who called Avenatti out for being an opportunistic grifter from the beginning was Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

In September 2018 — when CNN and MSNBC breathlessly touted Avenatti as a valiant warrior who would mete out justice to President Trump — Carlson asked Avenatti why he exploits Stormy Daniels, who was paid $130,000 for her alleged 2006 one-night stand with Donald Trump.

“What is the crime, the harm, the injury, to your client by Donald Trump?” Tucker asked. “As far as I understand, this was a consensual sexual relationship. She was paid at the end of it. I feel she’s being exploited by you and others. I feel sorry for her. You demean her repeatedly. You are a hypocrite.”

Tucker torched Avenatti for profiting from the hundreds of millions of dollars in free publicity he got from “representing” Daniels, who has to resort to working in strip clubs in small towns to eke out an existence while her lawyer shamelessly used her to promote himself.

“Stormy Daniels is right now working in strip clubs in little towns on stage, and people are throwing things at her,” Carlson said. “You are wearing a $1,000 suit. Why are you not paying her?”

Tucker continued: “You have profited from Stormy Daniels. Tens of millions of dollars of free media, and she is working in strip clubs. You are exploiting her. Why are you not paying her some of what you are making?”

An angry and defensive Avenatti then tried to rattle Carlson by asking: “When’s the last time you saw porn?”

That’s when Tucker sarcastically retorted: “I’m into humiliation porn. That’s why I watch you on CNN.”
