Rush floats deal with Obama: We'll 'give you your nominee if you’ll have the DOJ indict Hillary'

Conservative icon Rush Limbaugh offered up a wishful hypothesis on why Republicans should continue to refuse President Obama’s pick for Supreme Court justice.

Obama put public pressure on Republicans to confirm his “moderate” Supreme Court pick, Judge Merrick Garland. The choice was no doubt a setup for Republicans in an effort to make them look unreasonable if they decided to go through with their plan to let the pick go to the next president.

Despite Garland’s moderate reputation, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the GOP will be blocking the nomination.

“It seems clear President Obama made this nomination not, not with the intent of seeing the nominee confirmed, but in order to politicize it for purposes of the election,” McConnell said on Wednesday.

Limbaugh had a tongue-in-cheek theory on why the GOP should keep sticking to its guns.

“I think Mitch McConnell … maybe offer a deal to Obama: ‘I’ll give you your nominee if you’ll have the DOJ indict Hillary,’” Limbaugh said.

“Would Obama throw Hillary overboard to get his Supreme Court pick for life?” he wondered aloud before canning the notion.

“Accept this is not the guy [Obama] wants,” Limbaugh said, calling Garland a “sacrificial pick.”

Limbaugh went on to speculate that the Obama administration must have warned Garland he was never really going to become the next Supreme Court justice, but he would get a glorious “White House moment” out of the deal and nothing more.
