Car bomb explodes outside police station, cops arrest elderly terror suspect

Counter-terror investigators in Northern Ireland arrested a 66-year-old man days after a car bomb went off outside a police station southwest of central Belfast, detectives said.

Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Terrorism Investigation Unit investigators said the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday morning in the Dunmurry area under the Terrorism Act, Sky News reported. The explosion took place Saturday night outside Dunmurry Police Station. A delivery driver’s vehicle was allegedly seized in west Belfast’s Twinbrook neighborhood and rigged with an explosive.
