‘You don’t have to cut me off’: Fetterman gets last word on Kaitlan Collins’ selective outrage

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman held the line during a recent contentious interview with CNN’s KaitlanCollins.

Collins grilled Fetterman on being the only Democrat senator not to have signed a letter demanding an investigation into a U.S. strike on an Iranian girl’s elementary school during Operation Epic Fury.

“You mentioned how you differ from your colleagues, your other fellow Democrats. Every Senate Democrat except you signed a letter today to Secretary Hegseth asking for an investigation into that strike on a girls’ school in Iran,” Collins said. “Why did you not sign that letter, senator?”

Fetterman explained his reasoning, calling out the “tragedy” and pointing out that the U.S. doesn’t deliberately target civilians, unlike Iran.

“Well, because we all agree that it is a tragedy having that school hit, absolutely. And we all agreed now, for an investigation. What I don’t agree with the rest of my colleagues in the House is that it’s a war of choice, or it’s dumb, or all the things that my colleagues have described, you know, this operation. I think it’s a good thing and I support that… That’s a tragedy. And I would remind everybody listening right now, the United States never, ever targets civilians. Iran does, you know, and including their own citizens.”

The interview continued and became heated when Fetterman criticized the media’s selective coverage of the ongoing operation in Iran.

Collins: Every senate Democrat except you signed a letter today asking for an investigation into that strike on a girls school in Iran. Why did you not sign that letter?
