Middle school special needs student lost miles away near busy intersection amid ICE protests

A young Chicagoland boy with special needs was left abandoned and scared while his middle school was immersed in anti-ICE protests.

Richard, 11, had followed fellow students out of Dundee Middle School when it appeared that he couldn’t keep up.

“I don’t feel safe. I’m just scared to go back,” Richard told local ABC 7 News after he ended up alone and miles away near an extremely busy intersection at Rt 72 (Higgins Rd) and Randall Road.

Richard started to panic and called his mom, Alexa Blasdell, to pick him up.

Blasdell said that she had no idea her son with a federally protected disability plan had even left school. It reportedly took her 10 minutes to reach her child.

“It’s not right, because my kid is supposed to be safe at school,” she said.

Richard’s disturbing story is one of many as schools across the nation take part in one-sided political activism.
