NBC apologizes for using ‘she’ pronoun while covering women’s freestyle skiing

NBC has broken rule #1 — never bow or capitulate to the woke mob.

NBC anchors were referring to Swedish skier Elis Lundholm, who was reportedly born a woman, but “identifies” as male, yet was competing in the women’s freestyle division when the “wrong” pronouns were used.

“Getting off course here though…oh she just skids out of that gate,” the announcers said to an international audience on NBC’s streaming platform Peacock. “She’s going to hop up and go around to make sure she does not DNF as she continues down the line here.”

“Getting off course here though…oh she just skids out of that gate,’ the commentary continued. “She’s going to hop up and go around to make sure she does not DNF as she continues down the line here.”

That’s A LOT of “she’s”!

Apparently, Lundholm’s team wasn’t too happy about the coverage, and NBC was quick to capitulate.

“NBC Sports takes this matter seriously,’ NBC said. “Today we streamed an international feed with non-NBCUniversal commentators who misgendered Olympian Elis Lundholm. We apologize to Elis and our viewers, and we have removed the replay of that feed.”

Lundholm finished 29th on Tuesday and is reportedly the openly trans athlete competing in this year’s games.

Of course, there are many ways to look at it, and Lundholm’s participation in the women’s games is sparking debate even among some in the trans community.
