President Donald Trump directed conservative Nick Sortor to share information on those responsible for burning a U.S. flag in Portland, Oregon.
During a roundtable discussion that included Cabinet members, independent journalists, and conservative influencers, the president was blunt in directing Sortor to give U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi any pertinent information on protestors outside the Portland ICE facility.
Sortor spoke at the president’s Antifa roundtable, recounting being attacked near the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility and then being arrested, rather than protected, by Portland police.
“I took this flag from that man that was burning it in the street,” Sortor told Trump at one point, producing a charred flag.

“Do you know who he is?” Trump asked.
“Oh yeah, I know exactly who it is,” Sortor responded.
“Why don’t you give it to Pam? Give it to the attorney general and let’s start prosecutions,” the president said.
Sortor then shared that he had a “second flag” that was also torched by protesters.
“We also saw what happened when that flag started burning,” Trump told the panel. “Everyone went crazy. And that’s when it started, when they started burning the flag.”
“At least that horrible night made you famous,” the president told Sortor, evoking laughter from the room.

The Portland Police Bureau said Sortor was arrested along with two other individuals after “a small but chaotic scene,” according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, which declined to charge Sortor.
“After a careful review of the investigation, including reports and video, we do not believe the crime of Disorderly Conduct can be proven against Mr. Sortor beyond a reasonable doubt. The two other individuals arrested for Disorderly Conduct on October 2nd have been charged,” a press release noted.
“The truth’s out: I was justified, and I NEVER should have been arrested,” Sortor wrote in a post on X.
