Comey strikes back: Looks to have case tossed out for ‘vindictive prosecution’

James Comey was arraigned on Wednesday on two federal charges, but his legal team is reportedly seeking to dismiss the case for “vindictive prosecution.”

The disgraced former FBI director pleaded not guilty on two charges related to his 2020 Senate testimony. Last month, President Donald Trump appointed Lindsey Halligan as US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Halligan indicted Comey days after her appointment.

Halligan recruited Nathaniel Lemons and Gabriel Diaz from the Eastern District of North Carolina as Assistant US attorneys in the case against Comey.

Lemons reportedly told Biden-appointed Judge Michael Nachmanoff, who’s overseeing the case, that the prosecution needs more time for discovery.

Meanwhile, Comey’s attorney Patrick Fitzgerald said he’ll be filing a motion to challenge Halligan’s appointment.

While leftists try to make the case that there’s no case, Trump supporters argued that Comey’s own words speak for themselves, but many are leery that it won’t be enough to see accountability.

It’s all on tape.

Yet Comey pleaded not guilty.
