Country music superstar Carrie Underwood is prepared to ignore the haters — and there are plenty of them!
Fans were split to find out that Underwood had agreed to perform “America the Beautiful” at Donald Trump’s Inauguration on Jan. 20th.
With millions of Americans still not coming to grips with the erosion of their freedom, and many of those still suffering from the detrimental effects of Trump Derangement Syndrome the country music star had to know that backlash was coming.
Refreshingly, Underwood “doesn’t care” about the negative ramifications of supporting a controversial figure like Trump, according to the Daily Mail’s inside sources.
I’m astounded by the level of hate for @carrieunderwood on social media. Can’t stand Donald Trump and his views, but she’s basically singing a song for the people of America. If you are reporting you are no longer a fan, then that’s crazy. @realDonaldTrump #CarrieUnderwood pic.twitter.com/hWdi6WQX4n

“This is going to be a big year for Carrie who is embarking on being a judge for American Idol and now performing at the inauguration,” a source told the D.M. “This is something that she is very proud of, and the spin she is putting on it is that she is doing it for America, not specifically for Trump.”
Underwood understood that backlash would come but “doesn’t care” because she also knows that it will pass, according to the D.M. source.
I am truly so disappointed in Carrie Underwood fans today. It would be an honor for any singer to be asked to sing “America the Beautiful” at a presidential inauguration! If you are so called “done” with Carrie over this, then you were never a true fan anyway.

“She does her music for everyone, and she also knows many of her fans will be watching the inauguration, so this was a no-brainer as she feels there is more good that will come from it besides those that will bash her for what it looks like supporting Trump,” the source said.
“She is a former American Idol and America made her dreams come true, this is her giving back to the country she loves and which has supported her forever… she wants to unite the country, and music is her way to do that, she is looking broader than any controversies that have come up and will come up.”
The decision to perform at Trump’s inauguration will not hurt her new gig of becoming a judge on American Idol, the source said.
“They [American Idol execs] are excited that she is going to be their new judge and are looking forward to America falling in love with her all over again.”
As for the singer’s part, she said of her decision: “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event.”
Amen!
