WATCH: Pro-Palestine NYU protester does not know why she’s protesting – friend equally clueless

A telling video of a New York college student’s reason for joining pro-Palestinian protests reinforced many arguments about higher education in America.

The short clip was shared on social media by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani who introduced it as “A REAL interview we had at NYU.”

The young woman being interviewed delivered a jaw-dropping response when asked why she was protesting alongside others at New York University where students and faculty came out in droves to spout antisemitic, pro-Palestine rhetoric.

“What would you say is the main goal with tonight’s protest,” the off-camera interviewer asked the student, who explained she attended Columbia University but came out in solidarity with NYU students after a call for support.

“I think our goal is just showing support for Palestine and demanding that NYU stop – I honestly don’t know all of what NYU is doing,” she said as if suddenly realizing the missing context for her protest.

“Is there something NYU is doing?” the interviewer asked.

“I really don’t…I’m pretty sure there…Do you know what NYU is doing?” she said, turning to another girl who cluelessly asked, “About what?”

“Israel. Why are we protesting here at NYU specifically?” the nose-ring-wearing student asked her friend who dropped a stunning admission.

” I wish I was more educated,” she said behind a mask, prompting the first girl to concur, “I’m not either.”

Protests at NYU ramped up this week in concert with ongoing anti-Israel sentiments at Columbia and other college campuses.

Scott Galloway, a professor at NYU Stern School of Business, told MSNBC that there is a double standard when it comes to campus protests as demonstrations broke out at Washington Square Park in Manhattan where the university is located. He called out anti-Israel student protesters for being easily manipulated by TikTok and conflating the “oppressors and the oppressed.”
