Country star Miranda Lambert has spoken out for the first time after lashing out at a group of fans taking selfies at one of her concerts.

A new video shows the singer addressing the controversial incident. During a concert at Lambert’s Velvet Rodeo residency in Las Vegas, the country music sensation pointed out a fan in the audience wearing a T-shirt that declared, “Shoot Tequila, Not Selfies,” proclaiming “That’s bada**.”

“She did it, I didn’t,” Lambert laughed in a nod to the controversy that has sprung up concerning the original incident.

She then bent down and told the fan, “That’s bada**,” before taking a proffered shot-sized bottle of tequila that was held out to her and downing a swig which made her grimace. She handed the bottle to her guitarist, Ethan Ballinger. Later, he would share the fan’s video on his Instagram page although it appears to no longer be there.

This seems to be the first time that Lambert has publicly addressed the July 15 concert that ticked some of her fans off.

In that performance, she got slightly into her hit track “Tin Man” before stopping and chastising fans taking selfies, “I’m gonna stop right here for a second. … These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s p***ing me off a little bit.”

“I don’t like it, at all,” she stated to loud applause. “We’re here to hear some country music tonight, I’m singing some country damn music.”

“Sit down,” she ordered the fans.

“Shall we start again?” she asked the crowd and then restarted her song.

Not everyone in attendance was thrilled with her calling out her fans the way Lambert did. Some started yelling, cheering, and whistling for Lambert. Others were offended and reportedly left in protest.

According to Fox News, another fan recorded a video where they told the singer, “Let’s go. C’mon. You don’t do that to fans.”

One of the fans Lambert called out, Adela Calin, told NBC News that she and her friends only stood up for a few seconds to take a photo and were getting ready to sit back down when the country singer singled them out.

“It felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place,” she commented. “I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature, and vain. But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture.”

In a series of photos that Lambert shared on Instagram to announce the end of this phase of her Las Vegas residency before she returns in the fall, the singer found herself the recipient of a number of angry comments.

“I wouldn’t pay 10 cents to see you after what you did to your fans for taking a selfie with you in background,” one person bluntly told her in the comments section.

“She definitely turned me against her for the way she treated her fans. Selfishly rude!!! No thanks!” another former fan declared.

Despite those comments, she also received a lot of support for what she did.

“Nothing wrong with expecting manners from fans,” along with a “Go Miranda” hashtag was posted by one of her fans.

“Real fans watch the concert,” another insisted. “They don’t give a sh*t about a selfie with your buddies to brag to your friends who couldn’t afford the concert tickets! Don’t like her, unfollow her, and just go away!”
