‘Let them eat Chef Boyardee!’ ‘Clueless’ NY Dem’s telling take on inflation slips just ahead of midterms

In a comment that pretty much sums up the entire out-of-touch attitude of Democrats just before the midterm elections, New York Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney effectivelytold Americans that since inflation is skyrocketing, they should eat Chef Boyardee.

The Marie Antoinette moment was yet another in a long string of elitist, tone-deaf comments from Democrats proving that they don’t care that Americans are suffering under 40-year-high inflation. They seem to only care about a leftist political agenda that has roiled the country. The left is about to find out how that will probably boomerang on them during the midterms with a potentially painful wake-up call.

Fox News co-host Dana Perino asserted on Monday’s “The Five” that Maloney’s “clueless” comment encapsulates the entire 2022 midterm election cycle for Democrats. His attitude towards Americans is typical of the left.

“I grew up in a family where if the gas price went up, the food price went down, so by this time of the week we’d be eating Chef Boyardee if that budget wasn’t gonna change – so that’s what families have to do,” Maloney remarked during a late-October interview with Westchester’s Halston Media.

Maloney’s Republican opponent, Assemblyman Michael Lawler, quipped that he had a “better idea” than eating Chef Boyardee, “Let’s fire Sean Maloney and reduce inflation.” That message is likely to unseat the five-term incumbent representing the Hudson Valley even in a deep blue state like New York and rightly so.

“He may think it’s funny to tell families to live on Chef Boyardee, but in reality it’s tragic. The food and energy inflation Mr. Maloney caused in Washington is leaving families scared, hungry, and cold,” Lawler said, according to the New York Post.

“I think if you could put the entire election cycle into one clip, it would have been this one about Chef Boyardee — because [Maloney] is in charge of getting other Democrats elected,” Perino correctly surmised. “This election is about the inflation and the economy.”

She went on to point out that his elitist comment reflects that of other top Democrats whose statements appear derisive and insensitive toward the plight of struggling Americans.

That includes Biden Climate Czar John Kerry who once said that displaced energy workers could just go out and get a green job. He made the remark in 2021 in defense of the president’s climate platform, contending that Biden wanted laid-off workers to “have better choices… alternatives, that they can be the people to go to work to make the solar panels.”

That statement echoed President Biden’s when he told coal workers who had their jobs on the line, that they should learn how to program.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was thrashed for telling Americans who can’t afford a tank of gas to just go out and buy a $60,000 electric vehicle to solve their problems.

“They want to let them bike to work, put on a sweater, basically, because the heating oil is going to be so high,” Perino stated and then pointed out that the comments are not one-off instances but evidence of a political strategy by Democrats.

“[This] is why Hilary Rosen, a longtime Democratic strategist, is saying, ‘wow, we are in bad shape,’” Perino continued.

Co-host Jeanine Pirro noted that Maloney and others are absolutely “clueless.”

“He’s going to lose to Mike Lawler,” Pirro predicted and, by all indications, she’s right.

Co-host Jesse Watters went on to assert that Maloney is supposed to be a “smart” member of the caucus and shouldn’t be making a “Squad-gaffe like that.” He also said that Democrats have suggested straphangers not listen to music on the subway so they can sense potential criminal attackers. That’s in lieu of being armed or reducing crime.

“Here’s how that is: We don’t have a plan. You deal with inflation, you eat cheap slop,” Watters stated.

Watters went on to refer to leftists bemoaning that a Republican takeover is a “threat to democracy,” when in actuality the real threat would be electing Democrats who don’t represent the will of their constituents.

“You’re supposed to go out there and represent the people. It’s a representative democracy. Imagine after 9/11, George W. Bush came out and campaigned in that midterm on entitlement reform. And the country is dying to talk about terrorism,” he admonished.
