HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher made a doomsday prediction for Democrats, predicting a sweep for the Republican Party in the midterm elections due to woke culture, during a guest appearance on Bill Burr‘s “Thursday Afternoon Monday Morning Podcast.”
The comedian and liberal pundit slammed “woke” politics, blaming Democrats for the impending shellacking at the polls.
“I am very much a critique — a critic of what goes on on the fringe of the Left,” Maher told Burr. “I mean, woke culture has just — that’s one reason why the Republicans are gonna do so well in this election. Because the Left has gone super crazy with lots of sh-t that the average American just never voted for, doesn’t recognize in this country, doesn’t want…”
“Doesn’t pay attention to,” Burr cut in during the podcast.
Some hardcore TRUTH from Bill Maher…

Maher is by no means a fan of former President Trump and he claims because of the radical actions of Democrats, democracy will die on the ballot. Many would contend this is about a republic and the Constitution, not a democracy.
He asserted that in 2024 Trump will have plenty of Republicans in office that will back him as he “lies about election results,” thanks to the red wave about to hit the midterm elections.
“Things are going to change fundamentally in this country after this election,” Maher admonished. “They’re definitely going to win.”
That fundamental change would be a reversal of the one that former President Barack Obama started and that Biden has doubled down on. One that millions of Americans will breathe a sigh of relief over.
In October, Maher warned that controversial candidates like Georgia Senate hopeful Herschel Walker were receiving more and more support as the election neared, and it’s all thanks to the radical stances of Democrats.

“Part of the appeal of a Herschel Walker or a Donald Trump or any number of the egregious a–holes Republicans have backed is, in their mind, the worse a candidate is, the more it says to Democrats, ‘Do see how much we don’t like what you’re selling?'” he remarked.
“All that socialism, and identity politics, and victimhood, and oversensitivity, and cancel culture, and white self-loathing, and forcing complicated ideas about race and sex on kids too young to understand it, literally anything would be better than that. That’s their view. That’s why you can be a really bad dude in Republican politics and it’s not a dealbreaker,” Maher charged.
He carried on that theme during this week’s show and didn’t hold back.

“Well, we had a good run,” Maher began his “New Rules” segment.
“I know that’s not really a rule but since everything in America is about to change in a very fundamental way, what the f***. Rules are about to go out the window. Tuesday’s Election Day and I know I should probably tell you to vote and what honest to God is really the most important election ever. So, okay, yes, you should vote. And it should be for the one party that still stands for democracy preservation,” Maher continued. “It’s also a waste of breath because anyone who believes that is already voting and anyone who needs to learn that isn’t watching and no one in America can be persuaded of anything anymore anyway.”
He pointed out that the Jan. 6 hearings didn’t change anyone’s mind, although he did praise the inquisition.
“Ben Franklin said our country was a republic if you can keep it. Well, we can’t,” Maher broke the news to his audience. “And unless a miracle happens on Tuesday, we didn’t. Democracy is on the ballot, and unfortunately, it’s going to lose and once it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s not somebody who can change your mind about in reverse. That’s gender.”
“Let’s get this straight, it’s not me who’s changed, it’s the left. A large contingent has gone mental, and I’m willing to call them out.” Bill Maher pic.twitter.com/IHWjl7aMOy

He put forth that once Republicans retake both chambers of Congress, “they’ll begin impeaching Biden and never stop” over a myriad of things, transforming the president into a “crippled duck when he goes up against the 2024 Trump-Kari Lake ticket.”
“And even if Trump loses, it doesn’t matter! On Inauguration Day 2025, he’s going to show up whether he’s on the list or not. And this time, he’s not going to take no for an answer because this time, he will have behind him the army of election deniers that is being elected in four days,” Maher declared. “There are almost 300 candidates on the ballot this year, who don’t believe in ballots, and they’ll be the ones writing the rules and monitoring how votes are counted in 24.”
We can’t let the majority of voters get in the way of democracy can we?! We’re a Republic. A true democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner. pic.twitter.com/8Ma7eRqbb6

“This really is the crossing the Rubicon moment when the election deniers are elected, which is often how countries slide into authoritarianism. Not with tanks in the streets, but by electing the people who then have no intention of ever giving it back… This is how it happens. Hitler was elected. So it was Mussolini, Putin, Erdoğan, Viktor Orban. This is the ‘It can’t happen to us moment’ that’s happening to us right now. We just don’t feel it yet. We’re the Titanic right after the iceberg hit,” he railed, with no sense of self-awareness.
“And honestly, too many Americans just don’t care. And won’t even care after it happens. Because they never followed politics to begin with. And we’re never taught in school what democratic government was supposed to look like. So how sad can they be about losing something they never knew they had?” he continued.
“Make no mistake, it will be an entirely different way of life for many because our elections will just be for show like in China and Russia and all the other places Trump says are ‘very strong,’” Maher raged. “So yeah, I urge you to vote but I’ve always been a realist. I’m afraid democracy is like the McRib; it’s here now, it’ll be around for a little bit longer, so enjoy it while you can.”
