Reactions are pouring in following a break-in to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home Friday morning, where her husband, Paul, 82, was “violently assaulted” before being transported to a hospital.
“Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi,” spokesperson Drew Hammill said in a statement to the press. “The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation. Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.”
“The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time,” Hammill added.
Nancy Pelosi was not at her home in the City by the Bay when the assault took place. The motive is unknown at this point and an investigation is being carried out, but it definitely speaks to the raging, out-of-control crime in San Francisco. This time it hit very close to home for the Pelosis. The extent of Paul Pelosi’s injuries are also unknown.

The attack comes after Paul Pelosi was recently convicted of driving under the influence after an accident. He was sentenced to five days in jail and three years of probation.
Social media was immediately flooded with responses to the vicious attack.
TV host Greg Kelly tweeted, “WOW! Paul Pelosi (married to Nancy) had ANOTHER run-in with law enforcement? What’s with this guy? I suspect what the cops call a ‘lifestyle component’ to his recent troubles. FULL INVESTIGATION!”

There was a storm of activity on social media over the incident:
It's hard to feel sorry for Paul Pelosi and @SpeakerPelosi when they've championed the movement of lawlessness for so long.

Crime doesn’t care if your rich or poor, it only cares of the threat of the police and now you took that away and now they will reap what they sew

I bet the criminal was on parole and had a long criminal history. That is the problem. No one is locked up and no one is safe anymore.
