Kari Lake says CNN ‘turned down’ her audio during her fiery exchange with Dana Bash

The Republican nominee for governor of Arizona, Kari Lake, is flatly accusing CNN of playing games with her interview with host Dana Bash on Sunday, asserting they “turned down” the audio “on several occasions.”

CNN conveniently claims that they were having audio problems. Lake evidently isn’t buying it.

Bash attempted to hammer Lake over whether she would accept the results of the November midterm election in Arizona and whether she believed the 2020 presidential election results in her state.

When Lake asserted that she believed she would win, stating, “I’m going to win the election and I will accept that result,” CNN spun that as election denial.

“If you lose, will you accept that?” Bash doubled down, trying to corner Lake on the issue.

“I’m going to win the election and accept that result,” Lake repeated and then added, “The people will never support and vote for a coward like Katie Hobbs.”

Of note during the “State of the Union” interview was Lake’s steadfastness in not backing down. The fiery exchange went to Lake with Bash once again looking like the leftist partisan she is.

Following the contentious interview, Lake tweeted, “Here is my FULL interview with @DanaBashCNN on @CNNSotu this morning.”

“For some reason @CNN turned-down my audio on several occasions as I was speaking. Thankfully, I was recording the audio separately. This version allows you to fully hear my answers,” Lake stated.

There were definitely audio issues with the CNN interview but Bash and Lake could be heard clearly. The face-off occurred on Skype which is notorious for having connection problems.

CNN replied to Lake’s tweet, providing her with a copy of the interview, “Hi Ms. Lake. Here is your full live interview on CNN. As you can see, there were no audio issues. Thank you for joining us this morning.”

At issue in the interview was Bash’s attempt to pull a ‘gotcha’ on Lake over election results.

“You called the 2020 election corrupt, stolen, rotten, and rigged and there is no evidence of any of that presented in a court of law or anywhere else,” Bash contended earlier in the interview. “So why do you keep saying that?”

“Well, there’s plenty of evidence. We had 740,000 ballots with no chain of custody, those ballots shouldn’t have been counted…” Lake responded before Bash interrupted her.

“Where is the evidence of that?” Bash demanded.

“Dana, there’s plenty of evidence, I’m happy to send it to your team. The problem is the media won’t cover it…” Lake replied.

“We’ve covered this extensively and what you just said has been debunked,” Bash dishonestly charged.

“Only one side of it, Dana. The real issue, Dana, is that the people don’t trust our elections, they haven’t since 2000,” Lake responded. “I’m a reporter, been sitting on your side of the desk for a long time and since 2000, we have Americans who don’t trust our elections.”

Bash kept at Lake over election fraud but the Arizona Republican did not cave or give an inch.

“All I’m saying is we need to restore honesty and integrity and transparency to our elections,” Lake later stated during the interview.

“You and President Trump are saying that the election was stolen, aren’t you participating, contributing, even causing the idea of people thinking that the election is not safe and secure?” Bash disingenuously asked.

“No,” Lake answered. “We are going to make sure elections are safe and secure for Democrats, independents, and Republicans alike, we want to know that our legal vote counted, we want to know the winner on election night, we don’t want to be counting for ten days and we want everyone to know…”

She was interrupted by Bash again which was a constant during the interview.

Considering Lake’s rude treatment by Bash on CNN, it is little wonder she had an issue with the airing of it and the convenient problem with the audio. Despite all of that, Lake came out on top during the interview, making Bash look like a petty propagandist for the Democrats.
