DeSantis team mocks Joy Reid with humiliating rejection letter in response to ‘touching base’ with gov

After accusing Governor Ron DeSantis of racism and a myriad of other crimes, MSNBC host Joy Reid’s lackey had the nerve to email his team so they could “touch base” with the Florida Republican and was flatly told, “Nah, we are good.”

DeSantis Deputy Press Secretary Jeremy Redfern pointedly humiliated Reid after someone from her team attempted to reach out to the governor’s administration. They were roundly rejected, according to Fox News.

Reid sent out a tweet making fun of DeSantis’ expression during a press briefing by President Biden concerning the destruction of Hurricane Ian in Florida. That prompted Redfern to drop a bomb on her, sending out a screenshot of the email that was exchanged between him and one of her team seeking to “touch base” with the governor ahead of the midterm elections.

The DeSantis administration is notorious for not pulling punches and eschewing diplomacy for the brutal truth. Reid just got a taste of that policy.

The screenshot of the email revealed that Redfern denied “The ReidOut” team member any access to the administration and understandably so. Redfern obviously tweeted the image to taunt Reid, who has repeatedly and falsely blasted the Florida governor as a far-right authoritarian leader.

This all started with Reid sending out the video of Biden addressing the press in Florida with first lady Jill Biden standing behind him. Using the Category 4 hurricane as a platform, the president asserted, “I think the one thing that this has finally ended is the discussion about whether or not there’s climate change and whether we should do something about it.” That’s a view that DeSantis reportedly does not hold in the least.

Reid made a huge deal of the expression on DeSantis’ face during the speech, tweeting, “DeSantis’ face is saying so much in this clip…” Alluding to something she could not possibly know but making political fodder out of it nonetheless.

Redfern’s response was priceless, “You’re upset that you got turned down again, huh?”

Underneath that he tweeted the screenshot of the rejected correspondence between the Reid and DeSantis camps. It’s unknown who the email actually came from because the name was redacted by Redfern.

The subject line said, “Gov. DeSantis // The ReidOut,” with the actual message reading, “[Name redacted] with MSNBC’s The Reidout. Last spoke when I was with CBS Nat News a few months ago. Would love to touch base with your team ahead of midterms. Can hop on a phone if that’s easiest.”

Redfern’s response put a definitive end to the inquiry as he answered, saying, “Nah, we are good.”

It’s odd that Reid’s team would even bother reaching out to DeSantis considering that she has incessantly slandered him.

Last week, she tore into the Florida governor for warning looters that Second Amendment-supporting Floridians would not brook them breaking into their damaged homes. He intimated there would be potentially deadly repercussions for doing so.

Reid unbelievably compared the warning to racist threats made by segregation-era law enforcement officers against African Americans. Many felt it was as if she was claiming that if you are black, you have a civil right to loot which is preposterous.
