Soros-backed Philly DA claims Republicans ‘lie,’ insists policies are ‘working’ amid massive crime surge

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, who is currently being impeached, appeared on “Good Day Philadelphia” Thursday, defending his progressive policies while calling Republicans liars and claiming red states have more crime.

The Soros-backed DA appeared on Fox 29 News Philadelphia and was immediately asked about the recent crime wave throttling the City of Brotherly Love in the wake of numerous shootings that have occurred every day of the week since May 31.

“Maybe it’s not working,” Fox 29 reporter Mike Jerrick told Krasner concerning his policies.

“It is working,” Krasner responded.

“There’s been a thousand people killed in 20 months,” Jerrick clapped back.

“It is working,” Krasner declared. “The reality is, when you look at all these jurisdictions, we had a devastating blow from the pandemic, and there is absolutely no correlation between the progressive or traditional [approaches to crime] and the rate of crime.”

“The states in the U.S. that have a rate of crime that is 40% higher are MAGA states. They are Trump states,” he asserted.

When Jerrick pointed out that Republicans believe Democrat-run cities in their states have the highest crime rates, Krasner responded that “Republicans lie.”

The reporter asked Krasner about resigning.

“That hasn’t even crossed your mind, has it?” Jerrick asked.

“No, because the fact is that Philadelphia voted for me overwhelmingly because they want what we are doing,” the DA contended.

“We have a terrible crisis in this country when it comes to gun violence. I don’t have good news for you, but I will tell you the number of homicides this day last year was more,” Krasner claimed.

Then the DA was asked about his lax policies that put those with gun charges back out on the street leading to even more murders. Krasner asserted that those insane policies were what the city needed.

“We do not want to just be prosecuting people after the crime, we want to stop the crime from happening and save that victim’s life,” he stated.

The hosts of the show weren’t buying Krasner’s defense that things were actually getting better. They asked him what solutions he has to solve the pressing issue of violent crime. Krasner naturally did a political two-step and equivocated instead.

“The lesson is that we were in a shaky position when the pandemic hit and there should have been a lot more money into things like football, which are necessary for prevention, which is constructive,” he nonsensically replied.

Many in Philadephia are fed up with the leftist DA but Krasner is tone-deaf to the criticism.

“The areas of this city where we had the highest level of support were the areas that are most affected by gun violence because they believe in what we’re trying to do,” he unbelievably stated. “The perception is there for political reasons and only within certain communities.”

Murder, mass looting, and brazen assaults are now extremely common in Philadelphia. Over 100 juveniles, some as young as 10, reportedly stormed and ransacked a Wawa convenience store in the city. Lawlessness is everywhere.

Philly police are deluged with crimes and are telling the mayor they “can’t keep up” with the skyrocketing homicide rate. The mayor’s answer is stricter gun control which has not and will not work. It only keeps guns out of law-abiding citizens’ hands.

The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that there have been 750 shootings from Memorial Day to Labor Day in the city.

Philadephia has seen a drastic rise in violence with overall crime up more than 26 percent so far this year compared to the same time in 2021.

According to the Daily Mail, the number of shooting victims has risen 3.4 percent this year, with the police reporting 1,706 cases so far, up from 1,650 last year. Robberies have risen the most with 4,199 cases reported this year, which is up 40.5 percent from the 3,042 reported last year.

Krasner, a leader in the progressive prosecutor movement, has fought tooth and nail with police unions and with other officials who accuse him of being soft on crime. A lot of that is due to letting criminals back out on the street with lax bail laws.
