Déjà vu all over again: Kamala Harris given new task after failing spectacularly at previous tasks

Kamala Harris has a new job in the Biden administration, and it perhaps involves trying to address the root causes of why people are reluctant to vote Democrat.

If current electoral projections actually come to fruition, of which there are no guarantees, the results of the vice president’s task could probably prove as effective as her work as border czar in a region that she inexplicably claims is secure.

According to the liberal Axios on Monday, cackling Kamala, as she is known in some quarters, is taking her wide-ranging word salad on the road, a “deployment” that might make things worse for the Democrats.

“Vice President Kamala Harris is ramping up campaign road trips to turn out young voters and voters of color for the midterms — stopping this week in Wisconsin and South Carolina but so far without scheduled appearances with key Democratic nominees on the ballot,” the outlet reported. “The White House is seeking to deploy Harris in ways she can be most helpful. That’s meant engaging targeted constituencies around issues like reproductive rights, student loan relief and climate change.”

None of the latter three issues seem to be high on the priority list of average voters from all walks of life, however, especially given soaring inflation that has created pain at the pump and at the grocery store, crime, the border crisis (as alluded to above), and other similar kitchen-table issues.

Even Axios conceded that some Dems aren’t necessarily thrilled with appearing on the same stage as Harris or President Biden.

“But Democratic candidates in competitive statewide races…face a dilemma over whether it’s politically advantageous to campaign with either the president or vice president — both of whom suffer low approval in many battleground states.”

This scenario offers a sharp contrast to former President Donald Trump who has regularly become a kingmaker in GOP primaries and is someone who most candidates want at their side at rallies.

Among other sketchy practices, Democrats have often registered university students to vote in college towns rather than the city and/or state where they actually reside.

This technique has successfully elected Dems in some elections. The youth vote, which Harris is apparently trying to target, however, is generally unreliable in midterm elections.

Time will tell, and — with some notable exceptions —  much of the publicly released polling data is more and more questionable, if not a form of gaslighting.

Various reports have emerged, however, that independents are trending GOP, as is the Hispanic vote regardless of party affiliation, which is understandable especially given the economic disaster that has befallen the country under Biden.

According to a September 8 posting by Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia Center for Politics, “a congressional forecasting model using political and economic fundamentals suggests that Republicans are favored to flip both the House and the Senate.”

UVA Professor Larry Sabato is, parenthetically, not necessarily a big fan of the GOP.

The Republican Party still has time to fumble an opportunity to take control of the national legislative agenda.

Harris, who has dealt with an inordinate amount of staff turnover, recently said that she would be proud to run as Joe Biden’s VP for a second time on the Democrat ticket in 2024.

That assumes that Biden doesn’t instead decide to retire and spend more time in his basement.

In a tour de force editorial back in June, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, America’s most influential pundit, satirically endorsed Harris as the 2024 presidential nominee.

“A low IQ, a terrible personality, a total inability to do the prescribed job –  those are not reasons to deny someone a job….[D]enying Kamala Harris the Democratic nomination in 2024 is nothing less than a form of insurrection,” he quipped during the monologue.

According to a RealClearPolitics aggregate of six polls as of this writing, Harris has a 51 percent unfavorable rating.

In the name of equity perhaps, Joe Biden clocks at almost 53 percent unfavorable.
