Kilmeade makes sure Trump knows poll ‘Fox & Friends’ cites is from CNN and not to be taken too seriously

“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade was quick to point out that a poll co-host Steve Doocy quoted showing that 55 percent of Republican voters don’t want former President Trump to run in 2024 was actually from CNN.

The “Fox & Friends” segment that played on Thursday showed that 75 percent of Democrats don’t want President Biden to run for re-election next time around. Doocy reported that the majority of Republican-leaning voters also didn’t want Trump as their nominee in 2024. That was when Kilmeade stepped in to clarify the origins of the poll.

“According to a CNN poll, 75% of Democrats want somebody else. In the same poll, 55%…” Doocy began.

“There’s that glum shot again,” Kilmeade interjected.

“Fifty-five percent of Republicans or people leaning Republican want somebody other than Donald Trump to run. That’s up 6% from their earlier poll,” Doocy continued.

Kilmeade wanted to make sure it was clear to Trump that “Fox & Friends” didn’t come up with the numbers, CNN did. They have run a number of recent polls that were outrageously critical of the former president.

“If the former president is watching, you should know, those are just the numbers you are relaying,” Kilmeade told Doocy. “You didn’t come up with those numbers, right?”

“CNN came up with them,” Doocy confirmed.

“Right,” Kilmeade responded.

Doocy wasn’t ready to move on, fixating on the poll as if it was accurate.

“Ainsley said this was a fascinating poll. It is. That’s why we just talked about it,” Doocy continued, unfazed.

“And they are right as often as Halley’s comet comes by — every seven years,” Kilmeade snarked getting the timing of the comet wrong. Halley’s comet is visible to the earth every 75 to 79 years.

“So you are saying all we talked about for the last four minutes is not accurate?” Doocy asked sounding put out and miffed.

“I’m just saying if Donald Trump is watching, if Donald Trump is watching, just let him know we didn’t come up with that number. That’s what the poll said,” Kilmeade reiterated.

“Absolutely. I was talking to — uh yeah. I was talking to a pollster about these numbers and they seem to be across the board regarding so few people on the Democratic Party wanting Joe to run,” Doocy said attempting to recover from the exchange.

In the end, the poll, like many others out there, is far more telling about Biden’s lack of popularity than the former president. Trump was ostensibly thrown in there to disparage him if possible before he runs for reelection.

“It’s just too soon to tell. There are so many different polls and all say different things,” co-host Ainsley Earhart commented.

“It’s a long ways away,” Doocy answered, referring to the 2024 presidential election.

“But the majority of the Democratic polls do say the majority of Democrats want a different candidate,” Earhart noted.

“But didn’t THEY just sample 360 people? I think we have more than–,” Kilmeade started.

“I don’t know the number. Is that what it was?” Earhart asked.

“Yeah, no, 362 registered voters,” Kilmeade responded.

“OK, so not a big group,” Earhart stated.

“So yeah, it’s not exactly 340 million. But I’m sure some scientist would make sense of that,” Kilmeade concluded.

Former President Trump hammered “Fox & Friends” previously concerning their coverage of his numbers in a Turning Points USA poll, asserting they have gone to the “dark side” after discussing support for Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“@foxandfriends just really botched my poll numbers, no doubt on purpose,” Trump angrily stated on his social networking platform Truth Social. “That show has been terrible — gone to the ‘dark side.’ They quickly quote the big Turning Point Poll victory of almost 60 points over the number two Republican, and then hammer me with outliers. Actually, almost all polls have me leading all Republicans & Biden BY A LOT.”
