Former President Trump hammered “Fox & Friends” on Monday over their coverage of his numbers in a Turning Points USA poll, asserting they have gone to the “dark side” after discussing support for Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“@foxandfriends just really botched my poll numbers, no doubt on purpose,” Trump angrily stated on his social networking platform Truth Social. “That show has been terrible — gone to the ‘dark side.’ They quickly quote the big Turning Point Poll victory of almost 60 points over the number two Republican, and then hammer me with outliers. Actually, almost all polls have me leading all Republicans & Biden BY A LOT.”
Turning Point USA released a straw poll on Sunday that showed the former president way ahead of any other potential Republican primary challenger including DeSantis, who is reportedly a good friend of Trump’s. He received 78.7 percent of the vote.
“That is a little different than a couple of other polls we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks,” co-host Steve Doocy commented, referring to other national polls that have shown DeSantis ahead of Trump in several age demographics. “Weeks ago in Florida Blueprint polling did a poll, DeSantis leads the former president in all age groupings.”

“So it’s like the young people who are activists at that [Turning Point] event like the former president, but looking at these other polls, different answer,” Doocy remarked.
“If you look state by state, Ron DeSantis is showing tremendous strength in New Hampshire, Michigan, and Florida,” co-host Brian Kilmeade pointed out.
While Trump was pummeling the network, he referred to “RINO Paul Ryan,” as “one of the weakest and worst Speakers EVER,” and suggested he “must be running the place,” on Truth Social.
“RINO Paul Ryan, one of the weakest and worst Speakers EVER, must be running the place. Anyway, thank you to Turning Point, the crowd & ‘love’ was AMAZING!” Trump continued on Truth Social.

Trump is alluding to the fact that Ryan sits on the board of Fox Corp. which is owned by Rupert Murdoch and operates Fox News Channel and its various other media properties.
Other Murdoch-owned media outlets such as the New York Post and The Wall Street Journal have also taken swats at Trump, asserting that he isn’t fit to be president again after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) namedropped Murdoch while contending that some conservative media may no longer be in love with the former president.

Despite Cheney’s hatred of Trump and her efforts to tank him as a presidential contender in 2024, there is no doubt that the former president is a kingmaker in the Republican Party and is massively popular among conservatives.
Democrats and leftist Republicans such as Cheney may spout that media outlets and supporters are turning against Trump but there is no proof of that. In fact, just the opposite. Should Trump pick DeSantis as his VP, there will be almost no stopping them and Democrats know it.
