‘Once in a generation’ political realignment: Media outlets begin to notice as Hispanics flee Dem Party

Powerful Democrats and left-wing media outlets are beginning to notice what the rest of us have understood for a while—Hispanics are bailing on the Democratic Party.

It’s all part of a massive political realignment that’s taking place in real time, in which party demographics are changing as Republicans achieve significant gains among Hispanics and working-class voters, while the Democrats are increasingly reliant upon affluent whites and college-educated women. It’s enough for even Axios to take notice, publishing an article on Thursday called “The Great Realignment,” which describes a Democratic Party that is becoming the de facto home of the ultra-wealthy and elite strata of American society—and, horror of horrors, a party that is becoming “a little more white.”

New data shows that Democrats are now “statistically tied” with Republicans in the race to win the Hispanic vote in congressional ballots, which is a dramatic shift from just 2018, when the Dems had a 47-point advantage with Hispanics during the midterm elections. Recent polls have also indicated that the Democrats have lost with every demographic save college-educated women, further isolating the party from mainstream America.

Giancarlo Sopo, himself a descendant of Cuban exiles and a manager of Trump’s 2020 Hispanic outreach and advertising efforts, told Fox News that this is all part of a “once in a generation type of political realignment.” For one thing, Sopo says, most working-class Hispanic voters just don’t buy into the woke insanities of the modern Democratic Party, and have little in common with the college-educated women who increasingly drive the party’s political agenda.

“We’re aspirational people,” Sopo said. “We want to work hard. We came to this country to succeed. Also, I think during that same time, it would be fair to say that the Democratic Party’s overly educated or miseducated, depending how you look at it, you know, elites have taken over the party, and it’s difficult to find groups that are more different than a woke White Democrat and your average Hispanic.”

“They’re economically different,” he added. “The social and cultural values are very different. Your average Hispanic tends to be far more religious and traditional in their cultural views than your average Democrat. So, I think if you understand the cultural transformation that we’ve seen on the Democrats, where they’ve become a lot more radicalized, and at the same time Hispanics…don’t just believe in the American dream. We personify it. Hispanics are really succeeding in America, the Democratic message just does not appeal to Hispanics.”

A recent New York Times/Siena College poll indicates that Hispanics, more than any other demographic in America, are concerned with inflation, with 87% of those polled saying the rising cost of goods is uppermost in their minds. Perhaps that’s because recent Hispanic immigrants remember inflation in the countries they fled, or perhaps it is affecting them more than most other groups. In any case, it spells nothing good for the party of Joe Biden.

“Hispanics want to prosper,” Sopo explained, “they want to figure out, ‘OK, how do we reach the next step on the ladder?’ That’s what Hispanics are focused on, not memorizing 74 pronouns. Not relitigating 1492 or Latinx and trying to upend the entire Spanish language. [They] really just want to focus on living a good life in this country, providing for their families and succeeding.

“The Democrats are absolutely terrified at what they’re seeing among Hispanic voters, and they’re going to do everything they can to woke shame Latinos into submission. Unfortunately for them, Hispanics aren’t buying it.”
