Sunny Hostin stuns fellow harpies in admitting she doesn’t believe in abortions or ‘any exception’

It’s been said that progressivism is cancer and one need only look at the constant erosion of the U.S. Constitution through further government overreach to find that the framework of the Republic is riddled with the disease. The same can be true for the thought processes of a person with differing beliefs as “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin demonstrated Monday during a discussion on Roe v. Wade.

In the past, Hostin has expressed on the ABC daytime program that she firmly believes that life begins at conception. She reaffirmed that stance as the show broadcast on location from the Bahamas with their first opportunity to review the overturn of the 1973 ruling through the 6-3 Supreme Court decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

“I don’t believe in abortion at any time,” Hostin stated firmly. “I don’t believe in any exception to it.”

When asked about cases of incest or rape she went on, “No, I don’t. I don’t, and that’s considered very radical for many people, and it’s because I’m Catholic and that’s my faith.”

Were she being intellectually honest, Hostin would have gone on to recognize that she was pleased with the decision from the court as she is entitled to her own opinion on the issue. However, the co-host instead sought an outlet to simultaneously affirm her progressive ideology which does not mesh with the ruling.

“And, you know, the justices — there are six Catholics on the bench, and there will be two Protestants cause the newest justice, Ketanji Brown Jackson, is Protestant and there will be one person of Jewish faith. And so this has always been a very difficult discussion for me, but what is not difficult for me is the fact that this is an activist Supreme Court and they should not be deciding the law based on their faith,” she asserted.

Hostin’s spurious claim that the justices decided the law based on their faith completely ignores the reality that Justice Samuel Alito wrote in the majority opinion, “our decision is not based on any view about when a State should regard prenatal life as having rights or legally cognizable interests.”

“In some States, voters may believe that the abortion right should be even more extensive than the right that Roe and Casey recognized,” Alito said. “Voters in other States may wish to impose tight restrictions based on their belief that abortion destroys and ‘unborn human being’ … Our Nation’s historical understanding of ordered liberty does not prevent the people’s elected representatives from deciding how abortion should be regulated.”

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg had begun the conversation by contending that “at its core” the discussion was “about whether you have the right to make decisions about another person’s reproductive choices,” and Hostin argued based on a ruling on concealed carry released the day prior to Dobbs, “The court is basically saying…it’s time to welcome all this new life, yet we can shoot them with our newly-available, completely unrestricted guns.”

Both statements are completely untrue and demonstrate that the argument from the progressive left demands the acceptance of false premises. Goldberg’s suggestion that “at its core” the issue is about another person’s rights completely disregards the arguments both for and against Roe v. Wade and instead boils it down to the desired outcome from the ruling on a supposed “right to privacy” hidden within the Constitution.

As for Hostin, her claim suggests the Second Amendment is equivalent to a license to kill. Were she being logical, and not political, she would recognize that her arguments are bunk. But that would require the progressive to risk her credentials among the woke or to take time for introspection that might reveal her views don’t necessarily align with her purported political stance.
