Jim Jordan accuses Jan 6 committee of altering evidence and lying to present a ‘one-sided, choregraphed’ show

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) shredded the House January 6 Committee for allegedly altering evidence and lying to the American people over what happened that day in what he called a “choreographed” presentation.

Jordan appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo to discuss what Republicans are doing, plan to do following the midterms, and how they are reacting to the Jan. 6 Democratic inquisition.

“I want to see all the depositions,” Jordan stated, referencing an altered text message exchange between him and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

In December, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who is a member of the Jan. 6 committee, presented a graphic showing an altered text message between Jordan and Meadows. Jordan admitted he sent the message to Meadows but stressed that it was only a part of a message he “forwarded” from an attorney named Joseph Schmitz, who was positing a legal theory about overturning the results of the 2020 election.

The Jan. 6 panel later apologized for the “error,” which involved truncating the message with a period, while Schiff presented it to the public without full context.

“I want to see all the documents. And ranking member Rodney Davis has already sent a preservation letter to the committee, saying, preserve all this information, so we can look at it, and the American people can get the full story, not just this one-sided, choreographed presentation we got — excuse me — we got the other night,” he continued.

“But when you think about what this committee has done, never in the history of this country, in the history of the House of Representatives, has a minority leader not been able to put on a select committee that individuals he or she has selected,” Jordan noted.

“We also know that this committee has altered evidence and lied to the American people about it, so much so that they had to issue a statement which says, we regret the error, which is government-speak for, we got caught lying,” he added.

“So that’s what this committee is about. I think the country sees it for what it is, a partisan political activity. That’s why the leader and I wrote the op-ed that we did in The Wall Street Journal a couple of weeks ago,” Jordan asserted.

Jordan also blasted the committee on Friday while speaking with Fox News host Harris Faulkner, calling it a “partisan production.” He pointed out that Americans are far more focused on what they can afford with their paychecks as inflation continues to spiral out of control than on the left’s dog and pony show.

“The majority party gets more members on the committee, they get more witnesses, but the minority party always gets a chance to bring in a witness or cross-examine the witnesses that the majority brings in. Except in this committee, this is worse than what Adam Schiff did with the 2019 impeachment in the bunker, in the basement of the Capitol, because at least we got to be in the room and depose the witnesses. And then when they had hearings, at least we got to cross-examine the witnesses. That’s not happening here,” Jordan declared.

And it is just a production, selectively pulling out information that we get no chance to see, presenting that to the American people in a completely partisan fashion. And again, you just went through how bad the inflation is, 41-year high inflation. I think the American people kind of care about what’s in their paycheck and what they can buy with their paycheck. But instead, we get this primetime focus on a partisan activity,” he concluded.
