U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) might be the only person in American who thinks that President Joe Biden is doing a good job.
During a CNN segment on Sunday, the lawmaker who Fox News host Tucker Carlson refers to “Sandy from Westchester” apparently as a way to call attention to the upscale suburban neighborhood where she grew up in contrast to the working-class Bronx-area district that she represents, was unwilling to endorse the incumbent POTUS for reelection, however.
At the end of the interview in the video clip embedded above, CNN host Dana Bash mentioned that Biden has said he will seek a second term in 2024.
“Will you support him?,” Bash asked.
“You know, if the president chooses to run again in 2024 — I mean, first of all, I’m focused on winning this majority right now,” a seemingly flustered AOC replied. “And preserving a majority this year in 2022. So we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. But I think if the president has a vision and that’s something certainly we’re all willing to entertain and examine when the time comes.”
“That’s not a yes,” Bash said.
“Yeah, you know, I think we should endorse when we get to it. But I believe that the president has been doing a very good job so far. And, you know, should he run again, I think that I — you know, I think it’s, it’s — we’ll take a look at it. But right now, we need to focus on winning a majority instead of a presidential election,” AOC added awkwardly.
AOC comments about Biden come as his job approval ratings have collapsed with the American people, including among fellow Democrats, according to polling data. Biden may be touting his purported reelection bid merely to avoid lame-duck status in his first term.
Even the New York Times, based on feedback from approximately 50 Democrat officials and others, has implied or more than implied that Biden should abandon any plans for a second White House run.

AOC also defended — to the apparent dismay of a somber Dana Bash — her controversial endorsement of Alessandra Biaggi, a progressive state senator, who is attempting to unseat Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Sean Patrick Maloney.
“We need to have a generational shift in the United States Congress in order for us to have a policy shift in the United States Congress,” AOC insisted about the need for more millennials getting elected, while also saying that no one should be retain a seat in perpetuity.

Ocasio-Cortez also recalled that the Democrat establishment launched a primary challenge against her in the previous election cycle.
In the back and forth with Bash, AOC said she might support more moderate gun control legislation that might emerge from the Senate (the House has already passed multiple bills in the aftermath of the horrific Uvalde, Texas, school shooting), if it is a “real baby step.”
Parenthetically, she has bragged about stalling legislation that would provide additional security for Supreme Court justices despite the recent threat against Brett Kavanaugh.
Last month, Carlson opined about Biden’s good job since taking office:
“But even if you accept that there actually were people who voted for Joe Biden voluntarily, it’s hard to believe that many of them got anything like what they expected in return for their votes. Joe Biden…has turned out to be an unparalleled disaster. It’s not an overstatement; in fact, in fact it’s a generous assessment. Our country has never seen anything like what Joe Biden has done,” Tucker asserted.
“Barely 15 months into his first term as president, Joe Biden has crashed the stock market, provoked a food shortage, opened our borders to millions of illegal aliens, presided over historic rises in murder, inflation, and drug ODs, as well as a corresponding plunge in overall life expectancy. And then, because all of that wasn’t punitive enough…he dragged the United States into a entirely pointless war with a nuclear-armed power on behalf of a corrupt foreign government that once bribed his drug-addicted son…and those are the big, easy-to-measure crimes he has committed,” he continued.
Watch:
“We spend virtually every night cataloging some of the rest: shuttered schools, permanent looting, Latin American-levels of wealth inequality, tampons in the boys’ bathroom, $7 dollar a gallon gasoline, unprecedented race hatred, homelessness, mental illness, suicide, and above it all, across the Pacific Ocean, a Chinese government that’s laughing out loud as we destroy ourselves for no reason,” Carlson noted.
“That’s some of what Joe Biden has done so far. He’s promised a ‘return to normal.’ He’s delivered war and economic collapse…how will any Democrat outside West Hollywood ever get elected in this country again? In a fully functioning democracy, that would be an honest question. But Biden has a plan: torque up the fear, ban complaining, criminalize the opposition…”
