“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin railed against guns on Thursday, saying Republicans can’t be trusted and calling Sen. Mitch McConnell a “filthy liar” while branding the GOP as the party of insurrectionists and massacres.
As the hosts of the liberal gabfest raged about gun control measures, including red flag laws following a spate of deadly mass shootings across the nation, Hostin viciously tore into conservatives and called for the banning of guns.
Co-host Sara Haines pointed out that red flag laws in Florida have not hurt GOP candidates in that state who backed them following the Parkland school shooting.
“I understand what you’re saying, Sarah, that you’re talking about Florida, the state, and that there weren’t consequences for the Republicans in that state,” Hostin responded. “I think though when you’re talking about federally, I don’t think that Mitch McConnell is going to legislate for gun safety.”

“You can’t trust Mitch McConnell at his word, ever, cause he’s a filthy liar and has been for quite some time. And Republicans get in lockstep against gun safety because all they care about is power. And so, I do not think that you can… and all everyone is talking about, even with red flag laws, is about temporarily taking guns away. It’s a minor solution,” she asserted.
“The solution here is, as Whoopi has said all week, get the AR-15s off the planet really in my view. And just get rid of you know bump stocks, get rid of these weapons of war and it’s not gonna happen with Republicans in power. So, I’m now with you Joy. Get rid of Republicans, get rid of the party,” Hostin proclaimed.
“The party as it stands now because it’s the party of white supremacy, it’s the party of insurrectionists, it’s the party of massacres at this point. It’s the party that you just can’t trust,” she charged.

“You know what, listen, I don’t want you to minimize red flag laws because they are actually proven effective,” guest host Tara Setmayer argued. Hostin once again called the legislation a “minor solution.”
“It is not because as a practical solution and one you can find compromise on. Banning guns is not…” Setmayer contended.
“Let me explain something about this. I don’t have a problem with banning AR-15s. The issue here is that the majority of mass shootings in this country are committed with handguns, not AR-15s. The FBI defines mass shootings as 4 or more people [shot or killed] which are committed with handguns in the majority of this country. So, the argument of just banning AR-15s is not going to stop the mass shooting problem.,” she added.
“I am convinced that a criminal who wants a firearm can get one through illegal, untraceable, unregistered sources, with or without gun control.”

“No, I’m not, Whoopi, these are facts,” Setmayer responded.
“Yes, you’re — let me explain why,” Goldberg stated.
“No, I’m sorry, I take issue with that,” Setmayer snapped back.
“No? You’re telling me I’m not gonna…” Goldberg started to reply.
“No, I’m saying I’m not blowing smoke,” Setmayer replied.
“I feel you’re blowing smoke, I think everybody is blowing smoke at the table, and let me explain why,” Goldberg repeated.

Goldberg stated that Setmayer was right to call for the strengthening of laws that already exist. She also said, “Do all of that, but get the AR-15s off the market.”
“Quite honestly, personally, I’m sick — I’m sick and tired of people making excuses, it’s one gun. Get it off the market. It’s one gun. Just do that and do everything else you keep saying you want to do,” she commented.
Setmayer then remarked that the law will most likely fail to pass in Congress.
“Well, then we’ll sit around and we’ll watch more people go,” Goldberg said.

Funny then how most of the mass shooters, including this latest one were on the political left. We all know too that the race obsessed are on the left as well. They also seem to define a mob walking around the capital taking selfies is an “insurrection”.
People who think that gun owners who are law abiding citizens are committing heinous crimes are misguided. If you’re in favor of taking guns from the law abiding citizens, what law can be implemented to stop a criminal from getting a gun? How could a law against a criminal that obtained a gun be found? Criminal’s don’t go to a retail outlet to buy a gun. Gun are pervasive in the United State’s, three states border Mexico. (Border enforcement is muted thanks to Biden) so how will law enforcement stop the criminal from committing murder? Whoopi has her head up her fat rear ended. She ranks among the top one percent of very stupid people!

Joy is playing with the statistics. Out of the 18,341 gun deaths so far in 2022, 8,177 were homicides. 10,164 were suicides. Yet they don’t want to talk about the fact that many of those suicides can be directly related to the government’s handling of Covid-19. The death scrolls, the fear tactics, the lockdowns, the virtual school, and the social isolation all of it caused.
Maybe it’s time to reread George Washington’s farewell speech he gave at the end of his second term…

I did watch it several years ago when Barbara Walters was the host. Since she left the show it has gone further downhill every year since then. The women on the show right now, are a pathetic, ignorant, and uneducated group of Liberals who live in La-La land, and know NOTHING about the REAL world, or the Republican Party ! This show deserves to go the way of the Dinosaurs, the sooner the better !

The only sane person on that show is Tara Setmayer. You can’t get rid of AR 15’s, Whoopi and all you other idiots. Most crimes are by pistols like Tara Setmayer says. There are 2 issues. Mental health and red flag laws. If you make threats, you should have the gun taken from you, but law abiding citizens should be able to keep their guns, which also means you can defend yourself and your family.

So, if we apply that logic to both parties, which they never do, how many innocent people across the country have been killed by thugs who passed through the revolving door of justice in all of the cities where democrats are in charge? And all under the guise of “bond reform?” I know in Houston, Mayor Turner claims success in the city’s new crime initiative touting murders being down this year compared to last when comparing to the same date of May 31, 2022 to a year ago. The difference? Murders in 2022 by the same date are 187 and, in 2021, they were 192. Uhhh yeah, that is real progress there. My point is obvious. If you combine the murder rate of all demo cities across the country so far this year or, even for Houston and Chicago alone, that # of innocent lives lost is staggering.
And, let us not forget the Christmas day parade mass murderer who intentionally drove his vehicle into a crowd of innocent people. I’ve asked before, does that mean we need to have new automobile control laws to limit who can purchase autos? A vehicle is a far more dangerous weapon than a gun.
I’ve said it before, these people will never take my lawfully purchased guns from me. Especially during a time when we watch the democrats willfully allow crime to run rampant across our country.
