President Joe Biden is allegedly fed up with the White House communications team undermining his authority and hurriedly issuing statements to clarify his gaffetastic public comments.
Biden’s anger towards his aides is being reported by NBC News in a piece titled, “Inside a Biden White House adrift.”
“Crises have piled up in ways that have at times made the Biden White House look flat-footed: record inflation, high gas prices, a rise in Covid case numbers — and now a Texas school massacre that is one more horrific reminder that he has been unable to get Congress to pass legislation to curb gun violence. Democratic leaders are at a loss about how he can revive his prospects by November, when midterm elections may cost his party control of Congress,” NBC commented.
“Amid a rolling series of calamities and sinking approval ratings, the president’s feeling lately is that he just can’t catch a break — and that angst is rippling through his party,” the outlet wrote revealing just how bad it is in the People’s House currently.
Biden is allegedly not happy and the piece indicates a possible shake-up among senior aides in the works. That would ostensibly include Chief of Staff Ron Klain stepping down and being replaced by long-time Biden ally Anita Dunn.
Oh look, it’s a day that ends in “y” and Anita Dunn is back for yet another stint in this administration. The revolving door can’t keep spinning this fast. The White House should remove it and have a hole in the wall to make it easier for influence peddlers to wander in and out.

“The breathlessness of paragraphs 1 & 2 versus the denial being relegated to graph 28 tells you what you need to know about this story. And as we’ve said before, no clarifications of the President’s remarks are ever issued without his direct approval,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates told Mediate in an interview regarding the reporting by NBC News.
The president has allegedly expressed disappointment concerning a “pattern” where aides rush to issue statements that he meant something else instead of a “clear and succinct statement.”
“Beyond policy, Biden is unhappy about a pattern that has developed inside the West Wing. He makes a clear and succinct statement — only to have aides rush to explain that he actually meant something else. The so-called clean-up campaign, he has told advisers, undermines him and smothers the authenticity that fueled his rise. Worse, it feeds a Republican talking point that he’s not fully in command,” NBC News laments.
Who is actually running this train wreck of a Presidency?

“The issue came to a head when Biden ad-libbed during a speech in Poland that Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘cannot remain in power.’ Within minutes, Biden’s aides tried to walk back his comments, saying he hadn’t called for Putin’s removal and that U.S. policy was unchanged. Biden was furious that his remarks were being seen as unreliable, arguing that he speaks genuinely and reminding his staff that he’s the one who is president,” NBC continued.
“Biden has vented to aides about not getting credit from Americans or the news media for actions he believes have helped the country, particularly on the economy. Unemployment rates have dropped to below 4 percent — pre-pandemic levels — but polling indicates most Americans believe the economy is in bad shape. Biden grouses that Republicans aren’t getting their share of the blame for legislative gridlock in Congress, while he’s repeatedly faulted for not getting his agenda passed,” the outlet added.
Biden’s comms team must be quite physically fit with all the walking back they do.

“The president has also told aides he doesn’t think enough Democrats go on television to defend him. A particular sore spot is his slumping poll numbers; he’s mystified that his approval rating has dropped to a level approaching that of his predecessor, Donald Trump, ranked by historians as one of the worst presidents in history,” NBC News stated.
“He’s now lower than Trump, and he’s really twisted about it,” an unnamed source close to the White House reportedly said.
The corrections are almost non-stop. It happened again in Japan at a joint press conference where Biden vowed military support to Taiwan if the country is attacked by China. Right on cue, aides panicked and sent out a statement that was meant to clarify what Biden actually “meant.” Again, it screamed weakness and made it appear as if the president was merely a puppet of those behind the scenes.
To be clear, the problem isn't that Joe Biden says that the US will intervene militarily if Taiwan is invaded. The problem is that it's totally unclear if that's true or if we even have the capacity to do so, and it's even more unclear when his own White House keeps shushing him.

Even Fox News contributor Newt Gingrich supported the president on the Taiwan issue, “I thought what President Biden did was exactly right. Given the mess in Ukraine, and the degree to which I think the Russians did not believe that the western world would come to the defense of Ukrainians — and now the much bigger war with worldwide implications of global famine and just enormous problems — I think here he is trying to be very clear.”
“Xi Jinping needs to understand an attack on Taiwan would lead to a general war,” he asserted. “Because that’s what would happen. If the United States goes in to defend Taiwan we will be in a general war with China.”
Gingrich slammed the aides for correcting Biden and charged, “He’s the president, they’re not.”
